$1500 Live WSOP Event
25.50 Blinds – I have 5000. V has about 8000
V is a 60 yo white man who appears to be playing a semi-straight fwd game.
The hand:
V raises UTG+2 to 200 and I call in SB with 88.
POT= 450
Flop: 722
I check. He bets 275. Is this a good spot to check raise?
I called.
POT= 2000
Turn is K I check he bet 800. I call.
POT= 3600
River J
I check he bets 2600. I fold.
I am interested in hearing your thoughts on my play on all streets.

Don’t check-raise flop. It seems to me, from your recent posts, that you are worrying way too much about protecting your equity in the pot and not enough about protecting your stack. Similar to the T7 hand, this is one where, if your raise is called, it’s very difficult for you to proceed in the hand. You should be more polarized than this when you raise, either bluffs or hands that you can continue to value bet even if you’re called. It’s very possible that in this spot you either wouldn’t have a c/r range at all or it would be very small.
Turn is close, I wouldn’t hate just folding there, especially given V description. I’d certainly fold river.
