I would like to know everyone's opinion…how much luck do you think
is involved with online poker?

I know if my stats  are looked up I'm a donkey, but  in the past 2
months of live play I've made final tables like 6 of 12 times. Cashed
in 4 of those FT's.

But when i play online I dont do nearly as good, almost seems like whne Im a 95% fav to win, I lose.

Ok as I write this I'm about to possibly take down a little horse tourney, so I guess I'm not a total loser, but on the other hand $80 first, big effing deal.

In my opinion a player loses  75%, if not maybe more, of the key
skill of poker, which,  imo  is the ability to read people. Hand and eye
movement, chest movement, Ive even seen sweat, and I had to bite my
tounge to keep from laughing because I could just see the fear in him.

I'm about ready to give up this online shit and focus on real play.

oh ya is the daily dollar on full tilt really worth playing? so many idiots in that tourney

Opinions please

and thank you in advance

I am watching the videos as well, picking a few tricks too thanks for those too!!!

Online poker is very different from live poker but in a lot of ways similar. There are key things online such as betting patterns and hand ranges that allow you to read your opponent. Volume is also very important. We all lose more than we win but if we can have a decent ROI and have a couple nice scores each month we become very profitable. I promise though, you cannot bink a tourney for a big score without being a good player (even the daily dollar).

Good job on the live results. My question is how many players were in these tourneys? Cuz if you made final tables without being in the money, I am guessing they were only 45 man tournies or somewhere around there. Also, keep in mind the money you spend at casinos that is not poker related, such as food, drinks, tips, and urges that take you to the blackjack or roulette table.

I love playing live so I am not saying it is not the way to go. I also love online. There are so many players that have proven that online can be very profitable and is beatable. However, to be good at either live or online you have to put in a ton of work and be open to changing your game to figure out what works.

As far as the daily dollar…yeah there are a ton of donks but that is what makes it easy to get a huge chip stack. A TPE member on here who typically plays mid stakes threw in the daily dollar and the daily dollar rebuy into his session and final tabled them both in the same day and profitted 2K+ just in those 2 tournies. I dont think you should just play the daily dollar and call it a night, but if you want, why not throw it in with your session.

I wish you luck!

some were about 45,  some of them were about 70 players. there's a bigger one with a couple hundred on average, I'd like to try that one.

When I'm playing poker live I never drink, and rarely spend any other $$, well gas to get there but thats not really worth counting.

went out 60- something in the daily dollar last night, after 3am flopped a set of kings, had the guy all in at the flop for him to catch runner runner flush.  great program full tilt.

thanks agian

I agree Benny.  You cannot blame the site for what happens.  Be happy with your decision making and don't worry about the results cause all you can control is what you do.

I think that the Daily $1 is a great tourny to add to your daily games.

I also agree Benny. I am not picking on slayer but people who dont win blame the site. I used to do the same thing…what I didnt realize was I was just a nit and I would allow myself to get short stacked deep in tournies all the time, and of course I would get it in good and lose. I used to blame the site and get tilted. Truth is…..winning players who play to win do not consistently have short stacks deep in tournies. When you play good poker and to win, you have stacks that can withstand those bad beats and you still can play poker!!!

Quoted the bold for truth.  This is so key.  Watch bigdog's vids.  He's just constantly building pots.  Either by raising or even calling.  Even if he's wrong he gives him self a chance at a huge stack because he always has some sort of equity.

This is a great post…..I am new to this site and LOVE what I have seen so far! Like the orriginal poster, I have a very decent record in live tourneys, big and small and have a donkey record with my online play. I have made final table in the FT Midnight Maddness, $28,000 daily, and have taken down a bunch of S&G's, however, I have been lacking in my online play for sure….starting with my tourney selection and ending in the way I play (which has been tight passive I guess)…..So funny to watch the videos and hear all the pro's here talk about other players betting patterns…..So many times I think to myself…Ya, that was how I played that type of hand….and that is why I sucked!….

So now that I have found your awesome site, I have spent time going through videos, reading, and trying to apply the aggresive style you are all teaching. Last night I had the video by Bigdog on regarding the 45 man S&G's while watching I also had 2 45 man S&G's up…..Placed 3rd in one and 1st in the other….Great result!

So here is a question…..When you guys play live tourney's…….Do you change your game much? Less 3 bet shoving ect…
