there have certainly been some instances of cheating in the past which are pretty well documented out there.

But in general playing online is safe, particularly on the major sites.  Like anything you just have to be smart and aware.

So no, poker is definitely not fixed/rigged.

if you think online poker is rigged or fixed…………….. then why would you join a poker training site?

lets be nice, im not a big fan of hearing about how it is rigged myself, but yeah pretty much online poker is legit.  If the best hand held everytime then it would be rigged.  Lots of live players say it's rigged because of the beats, coolers, etc… showing up more often than in live, but you play way more hands online, especially if you are multi-tabling, but your brain doesn't take this into accout when it feels the pain of the beat (I'm not a doctor, just my guess).

yep, this is pretty much it

live, you play 20-30 hands an hour at the most.

online, i 6-8 table at roughly 100 hands an hour.

so really, i should be copping 25 times more bad beats online per hour, but not per hand.

i can kinda understand why some people think there are more beats online, because there are, PER HOUR.

Playing online is infinitely more safe than playing in any average home game.

No, it is not rigged.  Why would they rig it for any one individual?  There's so much to be made by keeping the integrity of the game intact and making money off of everyone's rake.

I'm not a millionaire yet so I keep telling myself it's rigged.

def. not and if it was several people around here missed the meeting. i think what online poker has done is exposed the game a bit and what i mean by that is the simple fact that the the game for a century has been played at a snails pace due to the fact that it was all human based and the hand delivery was that of a dealer pumping at best avg 25 hands per hour now with online poker you have the ability to play 16 tables at 1 time delivering you 70 hands per hour this 1000+ hand per hour rate would uncover a huge amount of crazyness now play for 10 hours and wow this shit is rigged lol it apperars to be but obv not. ive 1 outed a guy on the riv deep in a wsop event to make quads and needed it and ive done it online as well its poker and all the same. when the weatherman says theres a 30% chance of rain alot of people bring there umbrella and they dont get mad at him when it rains. it took me 10 minutes to think of what i wanted to type and then to type it in that time AA was dealt 100,000 thousand times in the poker world both online and live and i will guarentee you there is 20,000 pissed off people right now.

It feels like that sometimes but it is because we only remember the bad things that happen. I winning poker player will always have more bad beats on their mind then the times it played out great..
