Hey

Reads – V has been active , opening up a bunch , they've also 3-bet from the BB vs hero's LP raise , which they then folded to a 4-bet shove , @ 22bb effective.

the total pot on the river is just over $2000, hero has roughly 3k behind.

I decided to bet turn to get hands like Ax Kx jxand maybe small pairs to fold like 22/44/55

cheers.

what hands do you think that villain calls the turn with?  Qx, 9x, sets (although prob c/r turn), 77-AA, possibly AK?  Would he check call a turn bet with KJ or KT?  JT?

You have to bet about $850 min to be a credible river value bet.  Since you have no showdown value, you are trying to get no pair hands and marginals to fold, but they did not go away on the turn.  Based on your plan, I think you expected to fold out at least the gutshot/no-pair hands.  I dont think 1/2 pot is going to get the hands that called that turn bet OOP to fold.

You can shove, but how many more hands fold to the shove than the $900?  77-88?

I think you have to shut it down.  He would find you having a 9 credible as a BB caller (which I do) and he still called OOP on the turn stab.

What was your river plan when you bet the turn?

The turn does not change much , i think hands that v will call with ott are hands like 88-JJ ,  A9s. I think JTs/KT/KJ would have been bet otf so thats rather unlikely, though we can't discount it. They may also decide to call turn with AK/AQ/AJ/AT , they may think they have some SDV with those.

I'll be honest though, i never did have a plan when I made that bet OTT. I think there's not many river cards that's scary for us. When we make that bet ott, the top of our range looks like  AQ/QK/QJ.

I actually think if we shove river we can get villian fold anything below Qx ..would be a tough call for them. Though i'm not entirely sure how wide our bluffing range should be on the river….its a tough spot imo. I mean do we shove our entire range on the river here? would you play a hand like KQ the same way as u did with 54, which is check flop -bet turn-shove river?  balancing our value/bluffing range here is what we should be doing here.
