I was a VERY early user of 2+2; my first post was in 1999.
I was a 35 year old, tight looking white guy; Villain was Johnny Chan.
Effective stack was 6000, blinds were 100-200 (I assume there was a 25 ante, but it is quite possible there wasn’t). Today this sounds early in the tournament, but back then we received the same number of chips that the buy in was; This was a 1K, 3 tables left. Only final table makes the money.
JC opened to 600 from MP, I defend KJs. To show you how things have changed, one poster wanted me to fold preflop.
Flop was Q72r, one of my suit. I checked. Today, most Villains would bet range here, but Chan checked back.
Turn was a 5 giving me a flush draw. I bet 800 into 1300/1500. Ray Zee wondered why I bet so small. (PIO prefers a small bet size). Chan calls.
I didn’t mention what the river was, but my question was whether to double barrel blanks.
