Interesting spots… I am predominately playing 2.50 180's at the moment and as I am playing more I am certainly working through spots where I am am really concious about my stack, as I do find when deep, 10 to 15bbs is a pretty decent place to be – so I am trying to be as patient as I can a wait for decent spots to get my chips in with.

I am not strong on the Maths side of the game at this stage – still alot more work to do… So following is just my opinion has to how I might play these spots given description:

Hand 1 – I am folding here. MP 1 is shoving into bigger stacks and he has a few to get through. I am finding 10+bb shoves in the 180's seem to be a pretty strong range and more often than not have us dominated. In this spot, I am giving him my SB and going another orbit seeking a better spot to double up.

Hand 2 – Again, I am not happy calling here. I think maths wise this might be marginal and possibly calling off might prove the right play (as I said I need to work on the maths side) however again I am looking for a better spot I think risking 6bbs in this spot pre. I would rather have my 16 or so BBs and look for a more +ev spot to get chips in…

Hand 3 – I am raising this all day… I am only really concerned about MP2 if they shove over the top with their 14 bbs, however I reckon against all other stacks I am happy to play a pot and I think I would find a call if one of them 3 bet shoved (excluding MP2 – depending of course on any reads I might have).

Hope your runnng well in the 180's – I am certainly finding there is a fair amount of varience, especially when you get to around 50 odd players left – All players are pretty shallow and nursing a 10 – 15 BB stack I am finding is working more often than not and really waiting for the +ev spot to get my chips to build that stack to get me to FT… Just need to run true in those 60 / 40 spots and of course win those dam flips… GL….  laugh

Hand 1, that's why I posted it. I think I made a bad call here.

Hand 2, I agree it's very marginal thing is that they can be really really wide there because the BB is about to hit them. So idk.

Hand 3, cool sounds good.

Haven't got that run good going yet but it's only day 1, the variance is pretty high in these though for sure…there's so many terrible players though that over time it's gonna be a good way to build a roll I think.

Gl to you as well sir, stay out of my games though lol.

I can agree that hand 1 seems like trouble and hand 2 seems a bit loose.

In hand 2, I think a better king could call, like KQ. Depends on how wide he is, I guess.  I've lost plenty of chips though putting people on wide ranges (even correctly) and calling with holdings that are too weak.

I would usually open hand 3.  If he showed you the ace of spades I think it's a lesson in shaking it off.

Thanks for your response to my recent post by the way.

No problem man, I hope it was helpful. I still have a lot to learn.

Get at me sometime if you wanna Skype review some HHs for the 180s might help both of us get playing a little higher.

Hand 1 – Fold

Hand 2 – Fold. Nash recommends 19.5%, 22+ A3s+ A7o+ KTs+ KJo+ QTs+ JTs T9s

Hand 3 – Raise/call the shorties. Lots of short stacks around and you have decent equity their gii range. If anyone flats KJs plays well post. This is a standard stop n go spot and you will see lots of these. You should be considering what sorta range you would be calling here, not just this hand also. Pretty much all of your range should be a call here, even without having a spade.
