hey hey!

readsV1 limped limp/called hero’s raise in the previous hand , I can’t remember exactly what happened post flop in that previous hand but they did win the pot. I think the action went check/check and then v lead out OTT ,hero folds.

V2 – has called with a wide range of hands pre and i believe they have played a bit spewy. Pretty sure they are a fish.

When v2 leads out otf their range seems really weak/marginal , it may at best include Ax which is likely to be weaker then AT imo. I doubt they have better Ax in their range or monsters in their range. anyhow i just called flop and i dont like it, does anyone agree to raise flop? that is , to get value from worse Ax and 8x? as for the turn it does not really change too much , unless v has called with 67s s pre and makes the GT straight, though there’s so much other hands that could be in v range which includes weaker Ax 8x maybe 99 but i think v is calling so much wider then this pre. so ya when v checks turn it really does indicate they have weak/marginal hands , so I bet half pot ott.

OTR there’s a 4 card straight down, i was unsure if this river helped our opponents range, of course its possible that it helped v and they got there with a hand like 78s/A7s but i dont think its likely given the action. When v checked river i discounted that they have those type of strong hands, its more likely they have marginal hands given the action all the way through out the hand and also because if they had a straight they’d probably bet this to get value from Ax , as they wont be sure if im going to check back here for STD value with a hand like Ax , so by checking it could cost them. The only time i reckon v will go for a C/R otr here is if he knew that i was capable of making very thin value bets otr.

anyway, v has 10k behind hero has 9k , total pot otr is 5.7k, what sizing do you go for here to get calls from weaker Ax 8x? do you think there’s more Ax or 8 hands in v range? or any other type of hands…

cheers 🙂

not sure if you noticed but there’s a lot of low cards on board , does that make it less likely that v has weaker Ax in their range? though , there’s still a chance they could have A2s/A3s ? and A9s? I’d discount 2 pair type of hands from v range like A4/A5 since they would likely c/r turn to get more money in the pot and to get value from Ax or they’d at least lead otr imo. They just played it too passively post flop which means its very likely they have a marginal hand which does not want to play a big pot.

some opponents might do a weird line like this with a monster hand , but its not good play thats for sure 🙂

Do you think worse aces and 89 would call you on the river? The rainbow nature of the board really limits the opponent’s range. (87 and 77 are the only other hands that could make sense to me.)

A HUD could help you determine whether he calls on the river with worse.

I think 8x should be folding to a river bet , Ax should probably be folding too but a lot will call with Ax , especially on these stakes. I’m not to sure if there’s a lot of Ax in their range though.

Are you checking back river joel?

Based on your analysis, it sounds like a river bet value targeting Ax is in order. If you get check raised, you can easily fold.

Seems like you played it fine, but I’d be skeptical about a river bet since you only beat A9, A3 and A2. I imagine a check is in order here.
