MTT's & Playing a High Variance Style

I've recenetly been employing a higher variance type style and experimenting with various plays and situations.  It's been working out well as far as outright wins seeing I've had more outright wins in the last month than I did all year.  The only problem I've had is that I am suffering some bad beats in some odd crazy ass spots.  I know it's just a product of playing more aggressive in particular spots.  Although I've had a fragile tilt expectation.  I play D- easy when I'm tilting.  So I've started to just stop playing and take breaks when tilting.  Only problem is I'm not getting in as many hands as I wanted to.  What technics can I employ mindset wise to help my fragile tilt.

if you are a tilt monkey then it might be best to go back to a lower variance style.

other than that, just look at your results now and then and see how much better you are doing. that usually helps

Ya you really want to make sure you are overrolled if you are playing a super high variance style of poker.  As far as tilt goes I've played so much I very very very rarely tilt but I got one of those PokerStars Stress Stars out of the FPP store and if I'm frustrated I just squeeze that sucker and then I'm totally fine.  Just have to find something that works best for yourself.

avoid sitngo poker and try to play less tables. sitngo poker will drive you to drinking and has a very high tilt factor thanks to everyone playing push/fold. just remember no one gets angry at the weatherman when he forcasts 30% chance of rain and it does rain so dont be upset when you lose AQ to Aj because when the weatherman calls for 30% chance of showers the smart money brings an umbrella.

I have to say that is the most elegant discussion of probability I have ever read. You are the man Ttwist, you are the man.

Wonderful way to put it.

To be honest guys since I've up my volume and just play without caring from hand to hand it's got way better quick.  I just know always assume it's going to rain and I just realize without the rain I don't get to drink.

I just keep thinking about all the huge 150bb pots I've won lately because when I 5 bet shove my KK/AA and the guy with AQ or TT just can't fold his 73bb stk.  Does he get their 20-30% of the time per his actual equity in the hand sure, but without those tards I never have a chance to win a huge pot all-in pre like that.

Those retarded suckouts that makes no sense will go my way more often than not so I just have to accept it.  Overtime it will work out.
