Villain hasn't been taking advantage of his big stack to abuse the smaller stacks. He has been playing more loose passive preflop, and shown down k4ss when i raised his bb from the button. average stack was around 37k and there were 21 left, 18 paid.

bartonfa (MP): BB = 91.6, t91622
Worm1120 (CO): BB = 7.3, t7310
AKofSpades07 (BTN): BB = 41.5, t41543
WearingOnlyFloaties (SB): BB = 12.6, t12641
areg707 (BB): BB = 17.7, t17672
Hero (UTG): BB = 77.1, t77074
moneyballonline (UTG+1): BB = 20.9, t20915

Pre Flop: (t2200) Hero is UTG with 6 of spades 6 of diamonds
Hero raises to t2000.00, 1 fold, bartonfa calls t2000, 4 folds

Flop: (t6200) 6 of clubs 9 of spades J of diamonds (2 players)
Hero bets t2825.00, bartonfa calls t2825

Turn: (t11850) K of spades (2 players)
Hero checks, bartonfa bets t11850.00, Hero raises to t26700.00, bartonfa raises to t86797 all in, Hero calls t45549 all in

River: (t156348) 4 of diamonds (2 players – 2 are all in)

What hands do we think constitute the largest part of the villains range, and do we want to get all-in against that range, or take the lower variance route and pot control to risk from going busto, when we know we have a large edge over the field? Thanks for the feedback!

The only thing you should be scared of is 99 or QT possibly, this is one of those spots you have to take because if you win this pot you have like a “zillion chips” as RFB would say…also the fact that hes been playing crazy makes me think he could have hit his King or 2 pair on the turn…If you are beat its a cooler GG

Agree, not folding a set here. If he has a bigger set its an unfortunate cooler.

This is the kind of hand you need to propell you to a FT!!!

I am also not folding. However, I dont love check/raise on the turn here for value, I prefer check/call on turn and check/raise on river letting him barrel two streets. Feel you are losing a street of value if you say he is loose passive with out the nuts and you check/raise on turn. Then if he 3bets you on river you check/raise, u can just call given he has a portion of his range that possibly beat you. The point is we are doing it for value up to that potential scenario.

Personally, I am never folding this hand against this guy.  The way the hand was played, he may have Q10, any number of Jx or 9x hands, I do not think he EVER has 99 or JJ.  On the turn, I would say he is more likely to have J9, K9, KJ, KQ or a Fl draw……….but since you posted the hand here, I assume he had Q10.

One thing though, on the turn with the str8 & Fl draw out there and if you knew you were going to call his shove, why not JAM his bet instead of the raise?  Put the decision in his hands.  What happens if he calls and a spade hits, what then?  There woud be a str8 and a fl on board and we may have to drop bottom set.

More importantly, 6s, why are we playing that hand from such an early position with this stack so close to the bubble and so many short stacks?  What do you do if one of the shorties jams pre????

This is an area I am trying to shore up in my game…………..

Okienga its short handed and on the bubble, opening here is pretty standard imo.

disagree that river raise would be best if he is loose passive, turn raise reps the strongest/most polarized range and i really dont like it.

Why do people not want to triple barrel here? he is a loose passive who will call down with Kx and Jx, tbh i think we got lucky that he bet the turn at all as if he is loose passive he is almost never stabbing light.

why do we want to check the turn? i understand why if i he is a serial floater who likes to take stabs at pots, but this guy is checking behind so often, bet/folding alot, and bet/calling or bet/3betting only the top of his value range.another reason for checking turn is if he has a particularily weak range on this board and we can only get 2 streets because he will give up in the face of 2nd barrel.

but against this villain it seems like a no brainer  3 barrel and get paid of by far weaker hands imo.

yea, chk turn is not good which then leads to me say that c/r turn is also not good. very easy triple barrel here. he will call so often but we lose value when he chks behind or if he b/f turn. and then if he raises river, we can find a fold as gross as it may seem. a loose passive player just wont raise river against our triple barrel with worse imo. so we kinda know when he has QT or better sets and yet still get paid against worse but dont lose value against checks.
