What is your hand?
I think shoving is probably a mistake with any hand. You can make a raise that forces the shorties to shove or fold, and maintain options against the bb if they happen to show interest after you 3bet. I think I’d make it 12bb with my entire 3bet range and go from there. Usually I’d go smaller but it can make for awkward situations when bb calls and opener shoves for small enough amount that you can’t re-raise.

I don’t think this is necessarily a massive mistake, but I do think you’re better off taking DIDD’s suggestion and 3-betting to a size that covers the short-stack. I probably wouldn’t fold to the BB either tbh, since it’s a spot where he should be pretty willing to show some aggression with worse hands than AJs.
There’s really not much cause to worry about risking your stack versus 2nd in chips when you’re still a long way away from the bubble. The ICM value of the bounties matters much more at this stage than the ICM value of any change in your chip stack.

Yea, unless I have history with BB such that I think his range is much tighter than normal I can’t imagine folding AQs or AQo. I think AJs is right on the margin. 3bet is handy because his jamming range will be a lot wider than his 70bb call range.
EDIT: Even if we get into flips more often by allowing villain to 4bet more pairs than they would call 70bb with, every single unpaired hand that might get added to villain’s range improves our equity. Worst case we end up playing some big post-flop pots, in position, against a bb flatting range that includes very few combos (if any) that have AQs in bad shape.

Cool, makes sense guys. Thanks. I admit I was concerned with getting into more flips by 3betting, or playing postflop in big pots. I shouldn’t be concerned doing that.
Try not to use words like ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’, try to just take an introspective look at where the concern comes from. Is it fear of making a mistake? Fear of how you react when you realize you’ve made a mistake? Fear of losing money? Usually there’s a fear that creeps in somewhere. Digging into the heart of it can help resolve a mental game leak you didn’t even know was there.
‘Should’ and ‘shouldn’t’ tend to end up placing unnecessary mental game pressure on yourself – you make a mistake, and it feels like a double mistake because you know you ‘shouldn’t’ have made it. Mistakes happen – focus on learning from them, rather than on how your game ‘should’ be.
