Hey ,

Reads – V is a passive fish , played a pot previously , they called hero's mp raise from the BTN @ 42bb effecitve with Jc3c , BB calls as a shorty (huge fish) flop Tc 5c 6s , bb checks , hero bets , villian calls on the btn pot is 6k , OTT 4d hero checks , they bet pot , hero check/shoves,  v calls , and the  river  is 3d. I won a pretty big pot with KK.

in this hand i was tempted to call the shove i just don't think they are flatting many Ax type of hands pre flop , but i guess they could do since they are terrible.

thoughts?

What range do you give him when he shoves?

What equity does TT have against this range?

What equity do we need to profitably call this shove?

Theres your answer.

Seems like a simple fold to me.

pretty much flush draws  , they could also jam stronger aces like AK/AQ but even then these hands will likely 3-bet GII pre…

At best against a fish it seems like a marginal spot and im sure againt that certain villain we can find more profitable spots. Even against a range that includes flushdraws (hearts or spades), straight draws, combo draws, 2pairs and some Ax i think you are a fair way behind.

2 things:

– Fishes get hands too

– There's no way your ahead in that spot if he's a fish.

Fishes are likely to call with Ax and try to hit their Ace, in which case they'll commit to the pot, they don't stop to think you may have a better ace (or won't give any thought to your cards at all).

In the same sense, when there's an ace on board, they'll be scared of it if they don't have the ace and will usually check-call looking to hit the flush or the straight, they won't ever check-raise shove a flush draw in that spot.

Finally… in that spot, with what I said avobe, you can only win if he happens to have air, and I don't see any fish bluffing with air… not with the ace there, they may do it without the ace there, but they won't with it.

Their logic is kind of, if they don't have the ace and you raised you must have the ace… as that's how they'd played it.
