Hi, I play on black chip and carbon But am confused by Merge. Is this another seperate site.

Also, when poker comes to NJ are we limited to play against NJ players only. Say, if Pokerstars buys Resorts does that allow US players to play on the full version of countries as pre black Friday.

Now I cannot even download fulltilt to railbird the bigger games, I hope it will at least give NJ players accesss to the complete site.

Thanks in advance,

tom

not sure about the New Jersey question.

As for Merge…Merge is the network and there are various skins (Carbon, Pokerhost, etc). You are essentially playing on the same site with very few differences other than look and feel.

BlackChip is a skin for the Winning Network of which there are also other skins, such as Americas Cardroom and True Poker.

My understanding is that it's going to require federal legislation before any US players in states that have legalized online poker can pool with international players.  More likely what you'll see is that companies will establish toeholds in states that have legalized, regulated online poker, set up compacts with other states where they operate, and that will help expand the player pool although it won't be anything remotely close to pre-BF levels (WSOP.com will likely be the first to do this).  If you live in the US, dreams of playing the Sunday Million are going to have to wait, probably for years, unless you skip out and move abroad sooner…

Black Chip used to be on the Merge Network but jumped ship to the Winning Network last December.

Winning seems pretty good so far.  It does not have a TON of tournaments, but there is a good $$10K GTD every night and then a $55 a $44 and a $33 every day.  Its good for filling space and a little softer than merge imo.

I play on True, which we offer rakeback for if you are interested:

during the signup on TPE, at step 3 where it says we need to log in to our TPE account. I try to log in but it keeps saying invalid email or PW. I obviously know it….should I just provide me email addy in step 3 or do I have to sign in?

The rakeback site is COMPLETELY seperate from TPE.  So when it asks for username and passwords that is for the rakeback site and not for TPE.

So you want to fill this out to create that account:

What's up boys, as far as the NJ poker question.  I have a few quick answers.  Without going to extreme detail, I was at Borgata during this past WPT series and had a chance to meet some of the important PartyPoker/Borgata people.

I had tons of questions, but the more important ones are this.

Will NJ players will hooked into the rest of the WORLD.  Noooooooooooooooo  But, they feel that NJ is going to be a real hot bed of online poker with Borgata, Caesars and others involved.  I was very excited with the conversation and feel that Borgata/PartyPoker will do it right.  They said the same rules from Nevada are going to appeal in NJ, meaning you'll have to be in NJ or hooked up in NJ somehow.  I asked about partnering up with Nev & Del, that's all in the working.  I know Nev wants it.  Again, I will say the Borgata reps feel that NJ will attrack a HEAP of players alone.

They said you'll be able to cash at the MAIN cage or online, take money out from the cage when you want and a few other exciting things.

Plus, the WPT is back in Jan for the Winter Classic and they said they hope to have TONS of sattys online by then for the classic.  REALLY excited to see what happens come late Nov early Dec.  Crossing my fingers.

Stupid guppy question –

I am confused. So many moving out of country to play online poker. Obviously a ton of people still play online in the states.

What is the risk of continuing to play online in the states? The gov. coming in and shutting them down like the others?

Is there just so much more traffic on non U.S. sites that pros are going where most of the money is?

NJ iGaming made it official last week.  Nov 26th of the start day.  We will see what happens.  I'm crossing my fingers for something good.  Going to be interesting to see how Poker Pros and junkies handle it.  I'm sure anyone in the NJ/Del/Pa/NY area will flock to NJ to play some.  Time will tell.
