I am curious to see if you guys like my line or how you would play it different. It is a semi-marginal spot but I decided to make a play at it. Villian is 19/10 and cbets 100%. I figured he does not hit the flop a lot of the time so I flat with the intention of making some sort of a play on a non-threatening turn. I decided to check/raise because I think he is two barreling this board. Thoughts?

What up Hawk….The only thing I would suggest here is if you are going to make this play, is to c/r the flop instead of the turn.  With his high c-bet percentage the villain is going to let the hand go with little resistance, if he calls you tighten his range and you reevaluate turn.  With the turn card being a 4h, if I was the villain I would be asking what you are representing?  I think the only think you are repping is a set of 66, 77, or 44.  58ss is unlikely in your range.  If you had Ak, or KK pre, you probably 3 bet pre.  I think the time to c/r is if another diamond hits to rep the flush on the turn, or if an Ace hits the board.  Something I have learned through my play and watching vids is that when I am going to semi bluff oop, I want to have some equity to get there.

I like c/c calling the flop and if he barrels the turn then evaluate know you are still very deep early in the tourney.

Great comments Terb! I think you are absolutely right. I was trying to represent the set actually. The turn also gives me a gutshot which cant hurt smile. I think check/raising the flop is the better line like u said. Thanks again.

I prob just fold to the c-bet pre-antes when an EP raiser barrels into 2 people on that flop. I don't think we show profit enough to start getting tricky and involved in a big pot OOP so early.

Merge is ridic soft. You can c/r and barrel 100% of turns and shut down if called but there are so many more ways to exploit people here that I choose to do it IP and after antes.

His 2nd barrel also makes about 1/3 of his stack invested – tough to fold people out when it starts getting to that point.

Great point coolers. Think I have a problem with being over aggressive pre antes, something I definitely need to work on.

I used to be a nit so once I turned to the dark side it has been hard to contain cool

His line and bet sizing looks like he’s betting for value.

Agree with above…if he’s cbetting 100% then maybe its a c/r
on the flop. You get the same info, you save chips, and you
Stop yourself from trying to get too fancy on the turn
So early in the tournie.

Side note: 1) being this early in the tournie how many hands do
You have on him to really make your tracking software stats
very accurate?
And 2) it is very important to check his positional stats.
How many times has he raised from early position so far?

I am prob folding the flop without more info.
