I think some ppl here might benefit from hearing one of the pros explain what this is. I see in a lot of posts ppl say “i had an M of 7 ect” and i'm not sure every1 here understands this concept, maybe im wrong. Just a thought, thx

if the blinds are 100/200 with a quarter ante at an eight handed table, there is 500 in the pot pre-flop (100+200+25antes(8 players)).

 

if there is 500 in the pot pre-flop, and you have 2500 chips, you have an M of 5.  If you had 3000 chips, it is an M of 6.

 

M is essentially how much it costs you per orbit to play.

yeah, or in other words your M = the number of orbits your stack would last if you stopped playing. it helps to give you a rough estimate of how “desperate” you are
