Brief intro: I found this site via Hagbard_Celine's pocket5's profile when I was looking up other players in my town. (Hello fellow VERMONSTER)

In the past I've played $4 and $20 180 mans to build up a little capital and take some shots in $55 guarantee MTTs.
The first couple of times I final tabled the $55 DNG unexpected expenses seemed to pop up requiring me to cash out most of my winnings.
I would invariably take shots with the rest [or spew at cash tables and steam blowing $5-$10 tournies], and then go back to grinding if that didn't pan out or put another $50-$100 in if I went busto.

On Thanksgiving I had about $70 left in my account. I decided to play in the $55 DNG as I've always felt comfortable in them, and the structure works well for me.
I ended up taking 3rd for $8.8k.

After that win is when I found this site and decided to check it out. I watched a bunch of videos, added a few select tools I felt meshed well with my current arsenal,
and then yesterday banked $10.4k for a 3rd place finish in the $22 1R1A. Another structure I feel extremely comfortable in and think I understand the dynamics of well.

My goal is to use this as a catalyst to become an overall more responsible and focused poker player; as well as move-up-to/become-profitable-in the $109 to $215 range.
I was thinking I would leave $10k in my account, that has been my “chance-taking” goal since I decided to go that route instead of grinding it up slowly.
My site preference is definitely PokerStars, but may end up shipping some $ to FTP for majors and such.

I work Mon-Fri 9-5ish, and weekends are generally the only time when I can dedicate enough time to the 1k+ field sizes.
I'm thinking I focus on the $22+1r1a, $55, $55+1r1a, then adding in $55+, $109s, $162s, and $215/Majors as frequently as possible.
I hope it doesn't get to the point, but if necessary I would obviously remove games from my list if I felt dominated skill wise, or my bankroll dictated it.

Those things being said, I'm seeking any advice in regards to:

Game selection
Thoughts on bankroll amount ($10k)
Observations on skill differences between the buy-in levels and how that should affect my play style
Ways to improve my final table play, so I can start taking some of these down
What games to add when in relation to bankroll +/-

General advice on how to best use this extremely nice variance to its fullest potential

read this article on Bankroll guidelines.

I would have thought you would need more than 10k to play the games you have mentioned regularly.

Thanks for the link. It was a good read, I knew my target games were a little aggressive and risky, I guess I didn't realize how much so.

I'm all for taking shots but I'd make sure you leave enough in your account so if the shots don't work out you can easily transition back into the games you feel most comfortable in.  I'd recommend trying to satellite into the Million and 750k each week, those are by far the two softest majors each Sunday.

def. stay within bankroll guidlines and if the promotion is warented its the bankroll itself that does the talking. I would considor $100 buyin and up to highstakes so a bankroll of 5k minimum is required for the $100 buyins 2% of your bankroll is rule of thumb
