hi guys, this hand is from a $300 live tourney in the uk, its 6max i have 24k @ 75/300/600 with AdKc. folds to btn who opens 2.5x with 28k to start, he has been pretty active and has called off 80% of his stacking stack calling pot size bets on the river on a K high board with JJ and another time he called down holding TT on a board with overs and then doubled a couple of times to get back to starting stack of 25k. the sb has been tight playing very abc postflop and trying to see flop when they are cheap. Sb shoves for 9.5k, its 45 levels and blinds are up to 400/800 in 3mins. I call expecting the btn to fold 80% of the time but he just flats. Flop comes 6s8sKs, i check and he shoves having me covered. i wanted to keep btn in the hand pre, but not sure with it being live if a shove in this spot is better, thoughts? cheers all

I would shove pre.

As played I would call his shove. What's his range? Not many lower flush draws are calling pre. The nut flush draw would probably play it slower. Looks like a naked A of spades to me or a K that is afraid of the flush coming in.

Def need to shove this pre imo. What happens when the flop is J85? We are putting in 40% of our stack OOP without a made hand. With AA/KK I like a call to trap the button, but with AKo I'd prefer to go heads up. As played we have to get it in, but some of his hands AsKx AsQx KxQs QsQx will have a lot of equity against us.

Deff 4b iso pre.

We can give u advice here post flop but u shud starting crunching hands like this in stove or whatvr equity software u have. These are the type of things that become automatic once u get better at them …and its esp useful live when u cant call timeout and whip out ur phone to determine if calling is ev.

I agree with my boys Loxxii & Julius…… Shove pre all day.  What else are you waiting for or fold (lol).  AK is not a made hand and you still need to hit the flop most likely.  You have a strong hand, but it's a 6max and you have 40bb's.  After the SB shoves, you should shove as well.  THen you get a good flop with TOP TOP.  What more could you ask for…………
