 24 players left, 8 at my table, 9 paid. BB2000 SB1000 Ante 200

SB: 18000  (M=3.7)

Hero BB: 13900 (M=2.9)

UTG: 6800 (M=1.4)

UTG+1: 14000 (M=3)

UTG+2: 22000  (M=5)

Mp1: 10000 (M=2)

CO: 6800  (M=1.4)

BTN: 11500 (M=2.4)

Utg goes allin for 6800, basicly I can put him on any hand as he just lost a big pot and is pretty much forced allin next hand( he did seem pretty content with his hand so I put him on Ax or K10+)

Folds to CO. CO seemed happy to call and I had him on AQos as he was that chuffed he showed down his AQos I think he thought he was last to act. Or was just trying to discourage any more callers.

I'm on the button with 6club7club. Normally I wouldn't even consider calling here but having seen the CO hand and thinking that UTg was on high cards to it was time to think (my gut feeling had been correct all through the game so I just went with it again). My thoughts were that against 1 player with AQ AK A10 KQ KJ I would be behind. But against them both with high cards i'd be about 33% and only had to pay 4800 to win 18200 which is under30% of the pot, but at the same time if I lost i'd need to get lucky to stay in. Proably the closest decision i'v ever had to make in a game. What would you do ?? confused

I'm folding here

I dont like the spot at all

although you are right with your assessment of pot odds i would discourage exacting hands on villains unless you have good reason to do so.

I'm not on my own comp atm but if we put villains on ranges like Ax+,KT+ then this at a guess would be approx 20% of hands, and i'm pretty sure this would include most pairs maybe 33+. c/o def has to have a tighter range given the action ahead of him so if you say A9s+,KJs+,88+ (just gusses obv) then i'm not sure our hand would play well 3 handed against those RANGES.

I mean if you put these guys on those types of hands (broadway cards) you have to consider the other hands within the same range – specifically the pairs that i mention which all pretty much decimate our hand

The other thing is that having 9100 chips is quite different from your current 13900 for future stealing as you clearly have more FE, and by the looks of the current stacks and relative closeness to the money bubble, 4-5BB's is massive to me

Hope that helps mate

i think you misread – he said that cutoff SHOWED AQ.

so villain thinks UTG has any two just about, and knows that co has AQ.

certainly a tough spot imo.

Even if I hadn't seen the Co cards I would have had him on, any pair and KQs to AKs and A10os to AKos, and Utg on random I would have 29% to win real borderline but still a real decision especially as my gut feelings and read of the table was very good this day and was worth a min of 1% extra to me.

I had managed already to get away from KK when a player hit trip 9's on the turn with no A on board due to his breathing changing. And also called a 1500 bet on the river with my bottom pair of 3's 5 kicker due to his absence of breathing(he never bluffed me again :)). In this hand I said Utg was any random but I did think there was a good chance of him having the top end of the random as he seemed pretty relaxed with his hand, but not that relaxed that he wanted a call, as he was still willing to stare down players thinking of calling, this player would have looked away as he did earlier I think if he held a high pair, (which would add another 2% to 4% to my winning chance if I was correct to them having similar or same cards).

So even not seeing Co's cards I would have still been thinking of calling.

As it was, I did call and Utg showed K10os, and flop came A,10,Q,2,J and the Co slamed his hands down and nearly broke the table.

It was the most fun game I ever played we all had a good laugh, Paco Torres was on my table a Spanish Pro and he was fun to play against, pushing his chips in on his Thomas the Tank saying Chu Chu, every time. And me with my Spiderman toy carrying my chips to the middle while singing my version of spiderman.

Thanks for your views guys, any more info on this hand would be great as I still dont know really the correct move with this short stack and against this extreme SS table, or what I would do next time in a similar situation??

, all the other players on the other tables somehow ended up each player with more than our entire table, maybe we were having too much fun and playing too friendly, but was good fun either way.

Also I went out Utg+1 pushing my 6200 stack in with K6os, I know it's pretty bad but I figured K high and i'm forced allin very soon. Too my suprise tha entire table called -1 player and Utg. they showed JJ,66,44,77, and me with my K6os, I was actually really happy and suprised to see I had a live card. Flop came 8,9,4 Trn 4 riv 10. Poor kid with the J's lost to the only player with enough chips to knock him out, but thats poker.

 Cheers guys cool

Thanks for the compliment Carl, made me happy smile  . In this case it it's streight out of Mike Cairos book of Poker Tells. I think the most difficult bit of reading poker tells is actually applying them to you game and trusting them enough to make the calls and folds as needed. I read the book about  year ago and this is as actually the 1st time I used my reads in a game more than just the odd time. I always knew what to watch for just didn't trust them enough to risk my money on them until i'd seen that they worked for myself, without risking too much money on them. Cheers…

yeah i read that book too…

also applied it very well to low stakes live games around the time $10-20 games

given i dont have a lot of time surrounding work to go out and play live i've lost the info i learned from it.

I do also own 'read 'em and reap' by hellmuth and joe navarro.. tbh i havent read the whole lot but just a few chapters and it looks like you exercise the skills outside of poker for a while before applying them to poker

Once i do eventually satellite into a big tourney i'll make sure ill be reading and studying my little arse off thoughlaugh

HAHA….i had to read this 3 times to figure out what was going on. I have been in many spots like this also. I think you got to go with your gut in spots like this. If you think you are live, check your spidey senses and if you think you are gonna hit, just go for it so you can get back in the game.
