Played my latest home game the other night, and my bustout hand struck me as interesting.
I had just lost a flip for most of my stack (my AQs against 22) and then doubled my very measley stack with AT against AK with a T on the flop to set up this hand:
Blinds: 5k/10k 1k ante
Stack: 38k (told you I was short)
6 handed, av stack aprox. 170k
I’m in the bb and get dealt 55. CO, BTN and SB all limp (my home game players are awful) and I shove. All players call and check down 727K4 board. BTN shows KJ and wins.
After the hand happened, I started thinking the better play is to check the bb and shove any decent flop, maybe having some fold equity (which may have actually worked in this hand) is this a better play? Or am I being results oriented and shoving pre is better?

Yeah, weird spot. You have to figure you'll get called in 2 spots at least 50% of the time. You'll get all folds like… 5% of the time.
I probably shrug/fold just because of the massive stack increase if we do bink a set and we're not guaranteed to pick up a playable hand over the next 4-5 hands if we check/fold flop here.
