No reads on villian, 48/11 over an irrelevant 11 hands.

Does his alin scream trip 9s or club flush draw? Either way, at this early stage can a case be made for a call?

Tks.

My first guess would be that it's not trips, but either A9, or a flush draw, though its tough to tell what he's going to show up with.  A quick check of OPR shows him to be a horrible player over 1000+ tournaments so I guess its possible to play trips like this, but I would think almost anyone would at least try to get another round of betting in before pushing you out of the pot.   It looks like he has already doubled up once, did you see that hand play out?

I think at these stakes I would go ahead and get it in, though take that with a grain of salt, I'm a donk!

The only logical hand you are behind is 99, but since he was the SB it is very possible he has A9, K9 or two clubs that also give some kind of str8 draw such as QJ, QT or JT.  If it is 99 you are about 80/20 but you do have redraws hoping to fill a FH.  IMO this is just too good a situtation to double up and I call.

As a fellow microstaker this one more often than not will be a King trying to scare away an Ace, the naked Ace of Clubs or two random clubs. I don't think you are going to see trip 9s here very often at all. You are way ahead of the range of this type of early player in these tourneys. Take the opportunity to double up and get yourself into position for a strong run.

This is a double up coming…just fade whatever he is drawing to…..maybe clubs, maybe A9 or K9….losing micro players are horrible so I highly doubt this is a set

No way you can fold here in a 3$ tournament, his range could be anything from A2o to JT.

For some reason, at the time I called almost against my will. Was convinced he'd made trip nines.

For the record he had trip 9s but after some of your comments I totally agree that calling is definitely the most profitable scenario under these conditions.

Tks.

didnt even read question or read responses just strictly going by title. imo if you have to ask yourself this question level 1 it is a fold for sure

your thoughts were my original ones ttwist but based on some of the feedback I now think it would be more profitable to call given the dynamics.
