Seems like a good spot to 3-bet pre. I like raising flop, but it should be a good deal larger, to set up a turn shove. There are not that many runouts where you’ll still be able to put money in good on the river, so you really ought to try to end the hand before that.

As played, I think it’s kinda close, but bet-folding is the worst option. I don’t anticipate V doing much check-calling, so you are just turning a hand that still has a decent amount of equity into a bluff that will never fold out better hands. Check back is probably best, and fold to a substantial bet on most rivers (basically, don’t call when you can only beat a bluff, so only call bets that could plausibly come from Ax).

yeah agree that this is a good spot to 3-bet pre , v has roughly just over 55bb , so if you decide to 3-bet it’s very unlikely he’s going to 4-bet shove , he’s pretty deep stacked and especially before the final table bubble i don’t think he’s going to 4-bet shove with a wide range so would be a very easy lay down if he did choose to do that.

as for post flop , checking back is good , which rivers are we calling/fold though?

Thanks for the feedback. Seems i misplayed this one, thats annoying smile

I didnt 3bet because i didnt want to face a 4bet. I think i would have 3bet KQo. I got too eager to see a flop with the KQs and figured i if the blinds tries to squeese i can easily call. But maybe a 3bet would have been better after all with these stacksizes.

That's a worthwhile consideration, but if you size your 3bet well, your opponent will call more often than he 4bets and you'll get to see that flop even when he doesn't fold. If you make it 5bb or a bit more, your opponent will have three choices:

1. Make a large 4-bet. This will mean you can't call with KQs, but it also commits him against your stack, which is great for the top of your 3-betting range and basically means that he can't make this raise without a strong hand, so you don't need to worry about it happening too often.

2. Make a small 4-bet with a wider range. Villain's 4bet would have to be quite small if he's going to leave himself room to fold to a 5-bet, and between the odds and the width of his range, I think you can justify calling such a 4-bet (if, for instance, you make it 5.2bb and he makes 11bb).

3. Call/fold. If Villain doesn't make a small 4bet with a high frequency (and if he has a high frequency for that, you can call with KQs), then he'll mostly call/fold, and you can be happy with either of those outcomes.
