I bet KQo with ~30bbs, get two calls, i´m oop now, cbet flop, one of them is really short, and is all in on my cbet flop, till here is pretty standard right?

So now I have TPGK, flush gets there, and i have bet pot ott, if i bet half pot i am commited, if i shove V will fold weaker hands, if i bet ~900 can I induce a bluff?

Also I imagine a FD will reraise flop?

Curious what people think about betting 550 on the flop. It prevents a side pot to go after and makes it easier for me to fold on the turn.

Having said that, I’ve noticed that people don’t check it down when someone is all in like they used to, and I’m curious to learn more about that specific concept in 2016.

Why do you want to prevent a side pot? Why is your objective to make it easy to fold the turn?

At one time people were more likely to check it down when there was no side pot, and getting to showdown with all players increases the chances a player is eliminated.

In addition, you could infer strength from a bet with no side pot because if you fold it forces them to show their hand.

It seems like both of these occurrences happen less often, and I’d like to understand why. I’m guessing it has to do with the remaining villain with chips being likely to call you with worse and that it doesn’t matter that someone else is all in.

I think that is more likely to happen on sit and go, satelites, or some kind of bubble on mtt, maybe FT bubble..

My point is that your thinking is all centered around folding when you should be thinking, on the flop, about getting value from a very strong hand. On this turn, it’s an easy check and fold to a strong bet like this one.

As for betting into dry side pots, it’s not some arbitrary question of style that can change over time. People have no incentive to bluff when they aren’t likely to beat the all in player. However, there are cases where they might be able to beat the all in player and get the third player to fold the best hand, and in those cases it can be worth betting.
