Hi,

This hand occures during a freeroll on PS.fr (Ten first won an Iphone 5). We are about 100 left (7000 players at the beginning). I have a pretty good image, vilain is fishy, limping a ton preflop.

Poker Stars Freeroll No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t2500/t5000 Blinds + t625 – 8 players – View hand 2296867

tostao56 (MP2): BB = 6.3, t31266

CAPPATRAT996 (UTG): BB = 51.1, t255295 => (52/4, 2.7 agg factor, fishy)
Eponyme22 (UTG+1): BB = 32.8, t163899
The_Answer95 (MP1): BB = 22.8, t113860

Pre Flop: (t12500) Hero is CO with Q of spades K of spades
CAPPATRAT996 calls t5000, 3 folds, Hero raises to t20000, 3 folds, CAPPATRAT996 calls t15000

Flop: (t52500) 2 of hearts T of spades 2 of clubs (2 players)
CAPPATRAT996 checks, Hero bets t18850, CAPPATRAT996 raises to t37700, Hero calls t18850

Turn: (t127900) 3 of clubs (2 players)
CAPPATRAT996 checks, Hero checks

River: (t127900) K of hearts (2 players)
CAPPATRAT996 bets t196970 all in, Hero ???

On his minraise flop I think It could be a lot of hands: air, Tx, Ax, small pairs, 2x, etc… I have pretty good odds and a lot of backdoors (If he has something like TJ I still have 30% equity with 15% pot odds) so i decide to call.

On the turn he checks, I decide to check back because the 3 is not a very good card to bluff, he is never folding a Ten and probably not a pair or A high and if he was bluffing on the flop I have some kind of showdown value with my K high.

Pretty happy to see the K on the river until he shoves. I don't know what he is X/minraising flop, X turn and donk overbet shoving river. A deuce? KT (don't think he X that on the turn)? Kx? 33 (maybe the most logic hand he can have with 23). I'm very tempted to call because he reps nothing but he is running 52/4 so I don't think he is the kind of player to overbetshove air on the river (and we are deep in the tournament).

Any thoughts?

ty ^^

Ty for answering,

Yep, I don't think he is bluffing often but his line is so weird and my hand is pretty strong and disguised. Really didn't know what to do…

Don't think our hand is good that often but then again I can't ever find a fold with TPGK in a freeroll… Prolly would lay it down if it was $10+ mtt, expect some AA/A2/AK/TT most of the time here

Snap call, even in a non freeroll I think he doesnt show up with enough good hands here.  If he had check/called the flop then check turn and over shoved river I would def be more inclined to fold(not just becuase we are getting worse odds to call).  I dont expect him to have many 2s in his range raising flop.  AA is a slight concern, and I expect to see TT about as often as I expect to see him show up with a joker in his hand.  KT is a small concern, but not nearly enough for me to fold.

All that said in a freeroll(or low buy in for that matter) I am not floating flop, I am either 3 betting or folding.

I don't really like 3betting flop. First we don't represent a lot fo hand (even if I know it's not a big problem against a non thinking player) but the main reason is just because I don't thing he is folding enough when we 3bet, I'm pretty sure he never folds a pair or better and not sure he is folding A high. So with the odds and our equity I think calling is better but maybe I'm wrong. I also think he would shutdown on turn with air or A high, it's why I called.

I finally “hero” folded the river but I think it was a call. I folded because of his passive profile and my edge on the field (and busted few hands later AA vs 44 :D)

ty for answers guys !

Snap call. We are at the top of our range on this river if we are folding KQ on this river what are we calling with? I am not prepared to make an expoitable fold in this spot i think random donks in these freerolls will show up with trash often enough to make the call plus EV he could also be value shoving worse Kx since our range is capped on the turn.

agree that its a call but disagree with your logic, im more inclined to play way more exploitably in lower bi/weaker field tournaments. the better the field the harder it is to get away with exploitative play

Yes i agree playing more expoitably is good but making an expoitable fold in this spot is not a play i am willing to make.

exploitative and exploitably are really the same thing tho. any deviation from nash opens us up to exploitation
