Hello!

Unsure if I have played this wrong or not, tilted, my head is a heavy dark cloud now yell

Reads: 1st guy who 3bet to 4bb has done that before twice, once was to a short that open utg with 9bb, both had AA, other time no showdown. BB guy is a donkey, he barrel turn and river on me on a KT3r 8 6 board with 55, i checked flop IP.

How about 3bet sizing?

Was not very happy to call that river, but I don´t think i can fold often. What TPE thinks?

The purpose of the sizing is for value of course but also to get position and isolate against a bad player. MP1 must have had a hand in its 3B/fold range. You know some things about the big blind, but I wonder how the read transfers here. First he calls a 3B with you left to act, then he calls your 4B to close the betting. Your read shows he will be aggressive and turn his hand into a bluff, but I’m not sure what it means in this context. If you knew the BB likes to call bets, then you could have made the 3-bet bigger. I want position so I would make it 45K and would call any shove.

Your hand loses a lot of relative strength on both the flop and river. It’s possible that you’re overreacting to the 55 hand earlier, and it’s OK to be bluffed sometimes. As played I would fold the river.

Really looking forward to others’ opinions. A lot of things to learn here. This is a podcast-worthy hand IMO.

Yeah you’re right Joel, this is interesting.  I agree, I would have made your 4bet bigger, 45k sounds good.  It is no secret you have a big hand, you are raising UTG, and then 4bettting, might as well put some $$$ in when you have a good hand to isolate the fish.

I think Joel is right, I think the 55 hand is noteworthy, but I’m not sure how much emphasis you should put it into this hand.  As played I’m folding the river as well.  What do you really beat here?  Only a bluff.

Hey almo…I wrote a long post yesterday but my fone died as I went to post it!

Which is probably a good thing because I thought it was a call!

I agree it is a complicated hand…I even commented on that yesterday, and having read the other guys’ posts I am not so sure I am right now. Over 2-1 on the river call and I wouldn’t be surprised on a paired board if in his fish brain he thought an underpair was good. That ten on the river is a bitch though. And how much is V really thinking about your range anyway? He sees a paired board which you failed to c bet and blasts away with an underpair, as per the 55 hand.

I think the 55 hand is probably very relevant myself.

Btw, out of interest, why didn’t you c bet?

Anyway almo I come to you for advice! So what do I know?

Yes I vote this one for the podcast too! It is very complicated, I read through it a few times, but if I got any component mixed up I apologise!

C’mon FX break it down!

I think the 55, as you said, shows that V can turn his hand into o a bluff if I show some weakness. I will give more thought on this hand soon, I have few tables right now.

I don´t think this is a very good flop to cbet, there is not much of V´s range I can target for value that he will call, also I would be very uncomfortable if V check raised me, also can show some weakness and V to fire with some bluffs and low pocket pairs.
