New to table, no reads/image.

Bubble has just burst and there are 60 players left.

1) Do you open KJo here?

2) Do you call the shove?

Think you got yourself in a sticky spot here. Just run the hand through both PushBot and CallBot.

PushBot says no push with this hand with your stack and position, however it is only just outside the push range KJs is a push, so not an awfull push.

As for calling off here, given your stack size villain has to assume your are only opening a hand your are going with so we  can assign a fairly tight range (especially readless) I used 11% which is 55+, A8s+, KQs, ATo+, KQo. Pushbot says to only call off here with 6% of hands which looks like 88+, AJs+, AQo+. Even widening villains range to 15%, this is still a fold.

In summary, your best options with this hand are:

1) Fold pre

2) Shove pre

3) Raise Fold

4) Raise Call

Hope this helps.

PS do a search for PushBot, you should be able to download it from a link on 2+2. I will try to put a link in an appropriate forum here. Its a very useful well formatted spreadsheet for assessing these kind of spots.

Yeah I agree prolly should just open fold this.

In general though I never feel comfortable open shoving with more than say 15bbs in spots like this. Should I be doing it a bit more?

you dont really want to be playing post flop with this stack so I'd only raise to induce with the absolute top of range. Anything else I want to play I shove with this stack. The cut off amount of BBs for open shoving though is an indivual thing but I am rarely raise folding under 20bbs.

With a stack under 20bb, my ultimate goal is to get back over 20bb. The best way to do that is to shove a hand that will be called by worse. I cant see people calling me with KT or QJ so I fold and wait for say 77+, AJ+. I will probably go with KQs too because it flips with just about everything.

In order to have a stack that can double up to over 20bb when you pick up one of these hands, you need to maintain FE which I would say around 13-15bbs work here.

So…

If the blinds are going up very soon, I shove here to have FE at the next blind level.

If not, I fold here because I can go through the blinds, come out the other side with 15bbs (FE) and wait another orbit for 77+, KQs+, AJ+

Generally, it looks something like that. Depends on specific table conditions of course.
