Hey guys,

A spot that came up earlier today in one of my tournaments. Really interested to hear what peoples thoughts are here & if anyone thinks this is not a call, what hands would be a call.

Situation was 15 left, I was 7/15 with 16bb. The difference between my current position 7th & 1st was literally about 4-5bb.

Villain stats were 15/10 9.6 3bet 4.0 agg over 586 hands.

Sharkscope stats are:

Username Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total Profit Form Ability /100 Network Filter
DuRR99          16,312 £1   £11   17% £19,873   Tilt 78 PokerStars

Now with the stats & the fact he is a winning reg makes me think he is pushing pretty much ATC here for 6bb on the button with the SB having only 5bb & me with 16bb.

K3s vs ATC = 56% equity +EV as #BBs = 1.97 (14.58% of stack)

K3s vs 90% = 52% equity +EV as #BBs = 1.52 (11.24% of stack)

K3s vs 80% = 51% equity +EV as #BBs = 1.40 (10.4% of stack)

K3s vs 70% =49.4% equity +EV as #BB's = 1.22 (9% of stack)

K3s vs 40% = 41% equity +EV as #BBs = 0.27 (2.04% of stack.

Basically for this to even be a close fold by running the maths villian has to be shoving only top 30% of hands. I can never see a winning reg shoving only top 30% of hands on the button for 6bb given the stack sizes behind.

Im having a disagreement with a friend that this is a very clear call imo so just putting it out there to get some feedback from others.

I think knowing he is a reg with good results makes this call a lot easier.

K3s is ahead of his ATC push and busting him would be a lot better for the rest or our tournament life.

Ive been in the same situation some times.
what i have thought about is how much your stack is at the moment. If you have like 50BB i would allways call.

But when i have around 10-14BB and haft to call of 6-7BB is it worth it with hands like Q9o,k3s and so on?

It’s a +ev call for sure. Sometimes I will fold in these spots though if I am confident that someone will double up my 16bbs when I open shove a premium. Sometimes I would rather wait for a double spot rather than flip for 1/3 of it.

Snap call. You can't pass on +EV spots deep in turbos since all skill goes out the window minus knowing how to push/fold.
