 Hey everyone,

This is my first hand I am posting in this forum and hope to get some great answers.

I am playing MTT’s/MT SnG’s for about a month now and several times I encountered a situation like this.
This hand was played (as you can see) in a 180-Man SNG for $2,50. The tournament went down to approx. 40 Players at this point. The Villain here seems to be a Reg, 3bet 88 AI as a re-shove so far, no other reads. Got just 7 hands on him and I was new to the table as well.

When I see Guys minraising with just 12bb or even less I look into the Nuts (QQ+) almost 90% of the time. Are you guys ever folding JJ vs such a play, or do you read some AQ/AK into his range as well? It feels really weird to me to fold even JJ here.

PokerStars – $2.28+$0.22|150/300 Ante 25 NL – Holdem – 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): 9.93 BB
UTG: 21.1 BB (VPIP: 52.94, PFR: 6.25, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 17)
UTG+1: 6.38 BB (VPIP: 5.88, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 17)
MP: 7.58 BB (VPIP: 28.57, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 7)
CO: 24.61 BB (VPIP: 23.08, PFR: 16.67, 3Bet Preflop: 16.67, Hands: 13)
BTN: 12.98 BB (VPIP: 12.77, PFR: 8.57, 3Bet Preflop: 14.29, Hands: 47)
SB: 46.11 BB (VPIP: 24.14, PFR: 17.24, 3Bet Preflop: 18.18, Hands: 29)

7 players post ante of 0.08 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.08 BB) Hero has Jspade Jheart

fold, fold, MP raises to 2 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 9.84 BB and is all-in, MP calls 5.5 BB and is all-in

It’s hard to know whether someone is slow-playing a monster after just 7 hands, even if you’ve seen them 3-bet-reshove 88.

With fewer than 10 bigs yourself, it seems like you have to shut your eyes and shove. Am I missing something because it’s a SNG that would change the strategy?

If people are going to fold the top of their range just because I min raised with 10bbs or less, I’m going to clean the f*** up.

This is more or less it. You might be able to make one or two slightly bigger folds than usual versus a strong-looking minraising range, but you can’t just go folding JJ. You need an insane amount of information to do that, which you don’t have. Just get it in here.
