Utg was playing around 21/17, so I didn't really gave him credit for a premium. With two callers the pot grew to 1215, which would increase my stack over 25%.

With two callers, my 3bet should be about 3-4.5 times the open (900-1300) which would be about 20-30% of my stack.

As you can see below, I just 3betshoved 38bb and got cold called by the BB w Kings.

Obv if I just 3bet pre I easily couldve folded my jacks, but how much could I have 3betted pre here or was I commited to 3betshoving in this spot?

If I'd 3bet to about 1100, would that have been to small to scare away any callers w a A, K, Q in their range. So if I were to 3bet bigger, that would represent about 1/3 my stack, so I might aswel 3betshove.

What do you guys think?

Ur too deep and its too early in tourny to punt away 38bb. Poor line to shove. Due to the stack sizes being awquard to the number of limpers(meaning, there's not an amount u can raise, thats gonna get u folds or even heads up)  there's nthn wrong with set mining in this spot.  JJ plays pretty horribly to a number of flops as well. So I really like callng and evaluating.

sorry bjizz i dont think shoving here and adding 25% to your stack uncontested most times is bad. Its the big blind that wakes up with a hand so that is unfortunate. Wouldnt mind seeing Diego pitching in with his spreadsheet here to see if it actually is very bad. I'm quite sure it's not because you add so much dead money to your stack when they all fold which will be very often.

Diego?

ive put it in here several times, its a funny spot but i dont hate the jam, i mean can you reraise here and fold to a shove? hate to reraise and get flatted then a K high board peels and then im clueless as to where i stand so a jam here may look really stealy and u get snapped off by 99 or AJ. odd spot

I guess so…. lol. Just seems a bit spewy to shove that early and that deep without a ton of reads. We're gonna be flipping more times than not when called. Again it just seems to spewy to shove there as deep as we are.

so i guess, nice shove, just unlucky there:(

There is a tonne of dead money there, hmmm what other option do we have other than jam? fold i think thats way to nitty , 3betting puts us in an awkward spot if we get flatted, limping behind is just bad and opens us up for a squeeze…this is a really weird spot but seriously i pefer shoving over the other options.
