$365 Live Tourney
Blinds: 100/200/25 (Level 5 – still early)
V: 30yr old white dude in a WSOP hoodie. limps a good bit pre. Kinda tricky player. A bit ago he put a guy off of a hand with a big semi-bluff and showed. He also sometimes shows when he has good hands too. Basically, he shows a lot and tries to set things up I think.
Hero Image: TAG. Recent hands- V saw me fold to 3 bet pre-flop a couple times. He’s also seen me semi-bluff.
Stacks: V has about 11500. hero covers at about 16000.
Pre-Flop: Hero raises to 800 UTG+1 with JJ. V re-pops to 3k. I call.
Pot= 6500
Flop: 347r
I think a minute and check. V shoves for 8500…what would you do here?

Fold. I'd just fold pre-flop. It's an awfully large chunk of the effective stack to call just hoping for… what, exactly? To hit a set? That he'll check it down for you?
Villain doesn't really sound that tricky from your description. And there's just not that much room to be tricky when you're launching a huge 3bet into a big early position raise. He just has to have a strong hand here.
BTW, I'm not a fan of making such a large pre-flop raise when stacks aren't particularly deep.
