Bovada 5 dollar Rebuy 1,500 guarantee

Hero has been playing aggressive but has been getting hands. None have went to showdown so image is probably a loose spew monkey. Blinds are 100/200

Hero is UTG with 16,237 (82bb) and has JdJh. Hero raises to 555 and is called by the cutoff and small blind. No reads on these players other than your standard tourney donks. With no antes hero usually raises 2.5-3.0x to induce weak calls from blinds also to keep pot small for c-bet. Hero is good at post flop play and is not scared to take flop with hand

Mp+2 8,060 (40 bb) calls and so does the Small blind 8,864 (44 bb) flop comes 7c6d4h (pot 1865)

small blind donk leads for 600 Mp+2 folds and Hero raises to 1600 and small blind calls turn is 9d now board is 7c6d4h9d pot size is 5065

Small blind is first to act and he bets pot 5065. What do you do??

I want to get some responses of range of villain, why is he betting pot, what does hero do in this spot with JJ.

I will post next action after some discussions curious to what people would do.

I'd fold. I think best case scenario for you is that he has paid + OESD, probably 87 or 98. Otherwise he has two pair or better, quite possibly one that was improved by the turn, which would explain why he's suddenly eager to shovel money into the pot.

I defintley agree what you say about 87 or 98 sets can be in his range as well. Any more thoughts TPE?

Also, I think your history is somewhat off, since if he is leading flop, then MP can’t fold first…that’s out of turn since you are UTG. But in any case it’s really the big turn bet that is the difficult spot. I think it’s close, but as stated you gotta expect to be behind a lot when he bets so big. 2 pair seems very plausible. What happened?

The size of the pot basically commits you if you call, so really its all-in, or fold.  Best case scenario is he called with 89 as a draw, and paired the turn to go along with his draw, or has a flush draw (which is unlikely given the action).  Worse case scenario is that you are down to 2 outs or drawing dead.  I believe that you are behind his range.  You have to be very suspicious about him leading out for pot too.  It makes me think the turn improved his hand and he is trying to price out flush draws.  I'd just fold unless I had a specific read that told me otherwise.

I think this is a fold as well. I think he got too excited about the quality of his hand, the quality of which beats your jacks and potted it for that reason. See this a lot in less competent villians.

Well I called and he had K8 for a gutshot and an over. i won the hand and later won this tourney but when I look back at it I don't like the call. I think most times I am behind here against two pairs or sets. It was early in tourney and i don't think in long run calls here are +ev. I guess my thinking at time was if i call and lose I am not out of tourney, still don't now if i should have called. Anybody else agree?

on a side note…fact that you are thinking twice about hands that you won is a good sign!

Auto call on Bovada lol

Seriously I've seen so much clownish stuff on that site that unless our villain has really reggy HUD stats I doubt my fold button ever gets used.

Bovada is such a throwback to 2008 and I mean that in the best possible way.
