Hey Guys

When i saw this flop i asked myself what else did i want when calling preflop. But with the hands that have me beat here (KT, KJ, AQ) and them all being in his range, i felt i should shove or fold. Is that ridiculous? I guess in hindsight AQ doesnt bet pot there.

Looking at this hand. It seems fishy that villan pots it on the flop. It screams either he was isolating with some sort of connection to on to the board with top pair or some sort of pocket pair 22 – 77. I believe he was protecting his lovely pp. If he had QT, AQ, AJ TT+ he would have definately not pot the flop.

I think on the Pre for you calling is fine. The 800 bet from villan you would have taken it down with a jam and he’d either fold or donate all his chips to you. I just don’t see him crushing you… I see him crushed.

Yeah i thought that once i went back and looked at the hand again…i should have thought about it more at the time. When he bets pot i dont think he wants to get called. Live and learn. Thanks for the reply.

I think he probably has a pair with straight draw or gutshot type hand. He's probably not folding but you will have the best hand sometimes. It's worth nothing that someone betting into 4 people is much stronger than in a heads up pot.I thionk getting your whole stack in postflop or just folding now is better than calling once then folding later when nothing changes. So you didnt take the worst option in my opinion.

I think “what else did I want” thinking on the flop is flawed. You didnt have the information preflop that he was going to make a pot size bet into 4 people. You could also flop a flush or top 2 pair on a less connected board. This is a good situation but not the best spot for JTs. He could have just check folded when you both miss too.

It's also worth noting your range. This 2 pair is not the top of your range. You have straights, top 2 pair, pair/straight draws in your range too so if he is barreling 22-77 (which i dont think is likely) he will be giving you all his chips very often.

Im a little hungover so i hope some of that made sense

yeah i would have shoved here.  If he has a set or a straight, gg sir.  but you have 30bb here, time to get it in.  he will stack off with much worse than 2 pair.
