I’m curious as to what you guys think of this play. Villain is a competent player that has been opening fairly wide from LP his stats are around 17/17 on a small sample (50 hands or so) but he had opened 33% of hands from LP

fold, fold, fold, fold,
LP raises to 800.00, fold, Hero calls
800.00, fold, BB calls 400.00
Flop: (2960.00, 3 players) J 7 3
BB checks, LP bets 1,275.00,
Hero calls 1,275.00, fold
With a Pair and backdoor flush on such a dry board and an actively stealing player I was not folding, I decided to float to try and take it on the turn if I didn’t hit. My assigned villain’s range is pretty wide still close to his LP opening range since I expect him to C-Bet most flops: { 55+, A2s+,K4s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, 64s, 54s, A5o+, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o }
Turn: (5510.00, 2 players) A
LP bets 2,285.00, Hero
calls 2,285.00
So now I got a flush draw, and although an Ace could have helped him, it’s also a good card for him to bluff, and there a lot of good cards for me (9 clubs, 2 7s, 3 9s). And against his originally assigned range I am a 52% favorite. Even taking out a bunch of hands that totally missed form this range I am a 44% dog so plenty of odds to call. And my feeling is I can get him to call a bet somewhat light OTR if I hit.
River: (10080.00, 2 players) Q
LP checks, Hero??
I totally whiff the River, but after he checks I can safely remove most big hands of his range as there is no reason for him to expect me to bet if he checks. At this point I think that he either missed a draw (although he might have bet small with this to try and win the pot) or has a weak hand like a Jack or weak Ace he wants to get to showdown with, so:
Do you think this is a good spot to shove trying to make him fold?
What hands would you call a shove with if you were the villain? Would you call with 2 pair or better? A weak Ace? A Jack?
Not sure why you are flatting here with him only have 29 bbs to start the hand. Not a good spot to flat, but it is a really good spot for a light 3 bet preflop. This narrows his range and makes the hand a hell of a lot easier to play where he should usually be 4bet shoving or folding. If he does flat your 3bet just cbet 1/3 pot ish on that flop and you take it down a good amount of the time.
As played, you can raise the flop cbet to 2x-2.2x to find out where you are in the hand and take control of the pot rather than playing a guessing game by flatting.
Again as played on turn, if you think this is a good card for him to rep and you could still have the best hand and a ton of equity going to the river why not raise his turn bet to say 3x and commit getting it in…
River depends on how competent the player is. Shove may be good here but as stated above I am not a fan of you line the whole way and it isn't exactly convincing for a river bluff shove. If I am him I am check/snap calling with any ace.
Think you should maybe up the aggression a little in position and take control of more pots. Will make your life a lot easier for lines and decisions.

fully Agree the passive line I took was bad. he was fairly aggresive though and the fact that he checked river seemed weak to me. thanks for the feedback. I will wait for a few more answers and will post results.
Result:
Hero bets 14,833.00 and is all-in LP calls 7,183.00 and is all-in
TheBluffff: Shows [9c 7c]
DMTFTW: Shows [Qc 9d]
DMTFTW: wins $24,446.00
So clearly I butchered this hand every street. I was thinking maybe this bluff could work a large percentage of the time as my read of this player was that he wasn't strong at all, which was accurate, but as stated by Danny I was hardly representing anything, and If I were to raise flop or river even without 3betting pre I would have won the pot most likely.
Or to put it another way:
- Calling PF instead of 3betting………………..800 chips
- Calling Flop instead of raising………………1275 chips
- Calling Turn instead of raising……………..2285 chips
- Shoving without representing a hand……7183 chips
- Getting Advice from TPE Members/Pros……….Priceless
thanks for the feedback.
iwould have raised or shoved turn after we pick up more equity….Ax is deff in his range but its also a good barell turn for him so if we raise/shove he really cant call without the best Ax and sets since ur line looks pretty strong. as played on river though, its quite an ez chk. hes not folding Ax or Qx, even Jx prob. his line of cbet, bet turn, and chk river is either complete air or a hand with decent showdown value. so by betting river ur folding his air and getting him to call most of his showdown hands against our hand that has some showdown value itself. the only thing your river bet accomplishes might be to get him to fold Jx, 88, and TT.
also agree to 3b pre.
