I think you see QQ most of the time, reduced AA/KK because of the blockers you hold, AK, and then a reduced combo of other stuff like JJ/AQ/bluffs. Given this range AK is +EV. I guess you ran into AA but you can never just give these guys credit for it because there are enough other hands to make it long term profitable to call.
Well in my experience in this type of spot the times I've made the call it was almost always a monster and that makes some sense to me. What other hands does someone limp in with then snap jam to a raise with < 30BB and no antes in place? This being a bit higher stakes ( 15K GTD on AP) I was a little thrown by it and figured it was still early in the tourny and folded.
I am with you and find a fold. What we got to ask ourselves is it worth over half our stack when we are dominated a good portion of the time here. The answer is no. Sometimes it could even be a lower pair or even a shocking AJ AQ sometimes but you dont need to risk more than half ur stack for that small chance.
