This is a live $200 tournament at Venetian. We are at about level 5. I am a late entry to the table after rebuying. I doubled up fairly quick QQ > JJ. I have about 22K. Was active my first few orbits, but card dead recently.

Villains are both white-haired retired men. V1 (~26K) has a very healthy stack. Rarely see him get to the river since he tends to bet huge on the flop. Someone at the table made a comment that he is “bullying with the best hand.”  He has limp/reraised once then 5x overbet jammed a “safe” flop. I have seen him limp hands as strong as AQo first in.

I have only played one hand with V2 where he raised pre, got 2 callers, checked flop and turn, then raised my turn bet. He may be the kind I call a “backwards player” where he traps with his good hands and bets as bluffs, but sample size is very small.

Blinds 150/300/25 V1 raises to 800. V2 flats in cutoff. I call the BB with AspadeJspade

Flop (2800) Jdiamond5club2spade V1 bets 2600. V2 raises to 6100 leaving himself 6K behind.

I'm pretty confused in this spot. Pre-flop seems like a clear call. No sense bloating the pot OOP against a potnetially very strong range. No sense folding given the pot odds and hand strength, although against villain 1, if an ace flops and lots of money goes in, I'm probably behind.

I'm torn on the flop. My hand feels both too strong to fold and too weak to call.

I agree with preflop call. Your hand doesn't really seem that strong to me here. You are already not in great shape vs the PFR's range, and then this other guy seems to think he has a hand even stronger than that. I'd fold.

Calling the original raiser is standard but when the CO re-raises, its a clear fold. If V2 is a capable player, he probably picked up on the same read that you have. At best you are chopping with AJ with V2 but more likely one of them has QQ or better.

Thanks for the input everyone. At the time I thought the raise from V2 was pretty fishy. The board is super dry. V1 had shown a tendency to overplay hands.and the first hand we played together he checked twice to let one of his opponents bet. Still I wasn’t sure I was ahead of V1 and folded.

They checked it to the river. Turn brought my BDFD and river paired the jack. V2 hand bluffed with pocket 8s and V1 had called with kings.

That's a good thing to pick up on, Clubber (the bit about the raise being fishy), but the fact that you don't have great equity against the PFR is also an important consideration, as the results show here.
