So I think this is standard, but with ICM implications not quite sure. Final table of a live $150 tourney yesterday. 121 entrants and six players left. Blinds are 10k/20k and I am down to 150K. There is one other stack that has approximately 240k. I am UTG with pocket 3s. The two big stacks are directly to my left and both have over 1M chips, are very active and I am almost certain not to get a jam through both of them. I do jam and guy to my left goes all in to isolate me. He has KJ and hits a K. 6th place paid $755 while 5th made $960. Just curious if a fold would better here due to ICM and the fact that I have zero chance of getting a fold from the two big stacks. The other short stack was the small blind on my bust out hand.

Definitely a good shove, unlucky to lose the flip. As the shortest stack at the table ICM becomes mostly irrelevant to you, in theory your most frequent finish position will be 6th. You usually want to play your hands to maximize chipEV, as you would earlier in the tournament, unless other players are gambling in a way that suggests they are ignorant of how valuable it is to outlast you.
Another thing to consider when UTG, especially with only 7.5bb in your stack, is that you’re posting the big blind next hand. As much as inching up the ladder is appealing, passing on any reasonable shove is going to seriously hurt your chances of catching a hot run and contending for the win.
Haven’t run it through ICMizer but I think I’d be looking to shove roughly 25%: 22+,A2s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s+,A5+,KT+,QJ
If you’re looking to shove a bit tighter I’d drop Q9s,J9s,T9s,A5-A6,QJ from that range before dropping 22.

Agree with DDD. As the short stack I play ChipEV unless I spot a particularly juicy chance to ladder, like two equal stacked players having an argument in chat and getting tunnel vision trying to bust each other.
You might not have had much if any fold equity here but in this exact hand you were ahead of the guy who called you. Not by much but you got it in good. Playing ChipEV thats about as much as you can hope for…just got to win the flips!
