That's kind of what I think every day when I play MTTs. I didn't use to suck, i was quite good 2 years ago, won some tourneys, did some damage, then i stopped..for nor good reason and focused on sngs.
Now i feel that i'm over those too and i want back in MTTs but so far, i realize that I suck. I am not aggresive enough, i spew chips like a crazy monkey, I tight up when i shouldn't, i let people walk over me, i don't go with my reads [ and notice that this is just what I see, but i don't know what I don't know so there;s might be tons of bad stuff I do bad that I have no clue ].
That being said, I feel I could get better, I have some friends who are really good and are killing it, I have acces to TPE, i love the game. How do I get the best out of it and get back on top of things?
Is it worth it?
thanks!

if it makes you feel any better i suck too lol, i just have no feel for the game, i love playing but cant do well, i see the same guys building huge stacks in big tourneys and just dont know how they do it, if i try and get creative i just end up losing loads of chips if i play too tight i bleed away i have no idea lol.

Exactly. And we all suck in different ways at different times so it's important to post exact hands where you have that “I really f'd that one up” feeling and include as much info as possible because there are some pretty good players who reply here so some of your big fundamental leaks will get fixed pretty fast.

My 2 cents…..
Confidence
If you dont have it, you will suck. Confidence brings about a different brain thought processes and alternative decision quality. I suspect you will need to find a way to bring your confidence back and you will get your game back. Couple ways to do this;
- Just keep playing, hope for some run good and bink something
- Have someone good review your HH objectively…if your playing well then their POSITIVE feedback will give you what you need
- Review your own hands and try to prove to yourself the best decision via math. Assume you mostly come out on top, this will give you the confidence…and if you realise that you suck…realising this will give you confidence anyway coz you know what the issue is and can begin a targeting learning curve to address the gap(s)
Gl dude…man up and destroy
Upswing potential is huge

poker is a sick game. my best recommendation is to find a coach and talk over hands with people who are better than you.
STUDY STUDY STUDY
review your HH's. see what plays worked and didn't work. Be honest with yourself about variance.
make sure you realize who your opponents are. things that work in high stakes MTT's against thinking players, might not work against the calling stations at the lower levels.
Use your breaks effectively to review notes on players
Pay even more attention to the hands you aren't playing to better understand their bet sizing, and what it meant at showdown.
Use all the information available!
where are they from?
What kind of sharkscope results do they have?
is their avg buy -in, higher or lower than the tournament they are playing?
Are they playing a lot of tables or just a few?
All this info, can help you to make better decisions in the “less than standard” spots.
Don't give up!
