reads – v has been active , has been calling often pre and has been raising a bunch pre.  They’ve been playing aggressive.

i actually find this hand funny , as in v line does not add up to me at all. i just love how this opponent just checks back flop , calls turn and bets river lol.

when v checks back flop i discounted strong hands from their range. I’d expect v to bet all their draws on this flop I.e KQ so when they check back their range seems to be very weak. Ott i decided to lead out,  i reckon we have the best hand , when v calls their range seems marginal maybe small-medium pocket pairs could be in their range? i doubt they are calling turn with a flush draw or straight draw surely they would shove their draws on the turn? otr i checked because i don’t think we are going to get called by worse. I really don’t think the river has improved v range of hands. Unlessif v called turn with Q8s/78s then these are the only strong hands that could be in their range otr,  i just dont think flushes in their range. Do you think v will turn a marginal hand into a bluff otr?

I reckon river should be a c/c IMO.

no idea why the H/H does not show the buy-in of this tourney. It’s a $5 buy-in. Field’s tend to be really soft in these tournies.

turn lead 4k

T9s with not backdoor might be a check back hand on the flop from villain, call turn and bet river.

Maybe he is also value towing himself with a good T he check back as your line looks pretty weak

Preflop/Hero. I don’t like the call pre with this stack size. I would rather wait for a shove or 3bet shove spot.

Preflop/Villain. Has been aggressive however from such an early position I think that putting him on Q8s is a stretch. AXs, AT+, 56s+, 22+, KJs+, KQo+ should all be in his range.

Flop. It’s possible that the villain checked back this flop because, given the board texture and your stack size he didn’t want to get check shoved on the flop. If this is the case then this would indicate the villain doesn’t have a strong top pair type hand, hearts or a set. He could have an under-pair or an AXs type hand.

Turn. He could be floating to test your conviction on the river. Your turn bet and the call makes the pot 9600 and you have about 9k behind. He could have turned a set or diamond draw AXd, 56d, 67d, 89d.

River. Great card to bluff on and your line is weak. Your stack size doesn’t give you many options so he might be bluffing with whiffed draws 67s AXd etc. I don’t think villain needs to turn value hands 55,66,77,88 or 89s into bluff given your line. Could check back for value. Villains bet commits to your stack so I would expect to see value hands 78s, 9Ts, 44 or 99.

Don’t you think 44 would raise turn? as for T9s that could be in their range and so could 78s or 99 indeed.

Explaining why you don’t think value hands makes sense is only doing half the work. You also need to consider which worse hands make sense for V.

Of course Foucault, so which worse hands do you think would make sense for v here?

A-T, K-T, 78s,  A-3, A-5?

87 is a straight, and I would be surprised to see an attempted value bet from worse (or a pair turned into bluff). So yeah, that leaves 6 combos of A3s/A5s, if he even plays those this way.
