In the past month, I can't seem to reach a FT but I'm running fairly deep in a lot of tourneys. I have made plenty of FTs before (sick brag) so idk what I'm doing wrong now. I would like to blame it all on coolers, but this has become a recent problem and I can't seem to shake it. I feel like I'm taking good spots and playing a good TAG game. I thought I was shippin' the big $22 tonight for sure…
4/19: Big $22 50k – 38th place
4/17: $11 5k – 17th place
4/12: $4 4k – 17th place
4/11: $5c 10k – 46th place
4/11: $11 5k – 36th place (same exact tournament from 4/17)
3/27: Big $8.80 25k – 36th place
3/20: $8c 15k – 48th place
What is going on?
Try building a stack in the earlier stages by picking more spots and being more aggressive when antes kick in. If you do this when you are deeper, then you'll have more than 20-30 bb's when you are deep in the tournament and can afford to lose those flips.
the last 3 months ive gone from 10k to 12k 3times…I know what your feeling..my advice is play through it, and slow down on some of your 15bb-20bb reshoves, and wait till more around 7-15. these tourneys run shallow…i win more tourneys falling down here then leading with huge stacks along the way..and.they are still folding… as most dont know the right spots, or most focusing on chips lost vs chips gained, etc. all of a sudden kk aa, ak jj, rolls around, cuz u stayed patient..give it a shot.

I'd say if you've had a lot of success in the past and hit a lot of FTs to just stay focused and not really think about it much. Otherwise, it's tough to say what potentially could be your “leak” with basically no info on your play. 🙂

agree with the other posters – start restealing a little bit later than you otherwise would have
it could just be down to variance though. i am still not profitable this year, after having 2 straight years of 60% roi in tourneys, i have had a terrible run.
i looked at my “races” stat this year, and over 1100 hands, i am -1.1 million chips, wheras me EV in these spots is +7 million.thats probably over 350 or so tourneys this year.
so variance can bite and it can go on for a LONG time.

unquestionably…benny if u use HM2. can u write the steps down on how to pull up these “race” stats. tyty!

It is one of the standard reports, so just go to the results tab and then reports and find it
Make sure you are reviewing your own HH's to see if you are finding any leaks. Other then that it is def very possible to be running bad in the late stages over a pretty big sample. All you can really do is keep working on your own game and maybe make some slight adjustments late if you find it needed. This is def a case where it could easily just be variance in the late stages since we don't have a huge sample of late game play and you said youve had a lot of success previously.
