Exteremly early in this tourny only 15 min in.  Not sure what I could of raised to get all the limpers out so that is why I checked pre.  I hit middle pair but the large over bet is always confusing.  Any thoughts? IMO correct me please, he is limping any small pair+ marginal Q? I think he raises AK AQ 77+?  Thanks in advance guys…

fold, the only somewhat good card is a jack, if a king comes he is shutting down w/o an ace and you aren't getting much value.  An ace comes and any king he has makes a straight, making hard for you to extract value.  he is making your decision pretty easy here imo, also you would be oop for the rest of the hand, making it even harder to get value if you turn a J or K.

He is attempting to push any draws off. Just shut it down it is not worth the call for the possible straight. You were in the BB and you got to see the flop for free, so to speak but not worth the call.

I use the overbet in my game every day now.  I try to keep it balanced, but it's probably 60/40 = 60 being nuts and 40 = no show down value at all (aka bluff).

The overbet will become ever more common place in the game IMO so get used to it and understand the dynamics of it per the villan doing it.  Also there will be times like this one in multi-way pots that it's probably the nuts more than anything else.  The way I look at this hand is the villan has a strong hand and he's pretty certain someone hit some piece of this and won't want to fold so why not get max value on this street.

id say overbet is more like 80/20 big hand/air unless it is a shove which is different

id say without any reads to the contrary you should just take this as a big hand, probably 2p or KQ/KJ/KT/89 and fold.
