pot control pot control pot control! who loves pot control? i love it but in this hand it was a CLEAR mistake. lol.
I’d usually front load my value here which is bet flop/turn and re-evaluate river. In this hand that’s what i should of done. I decided to check for pot control since we are pretty deep stacked but its much easier to pot control if we were IP rather then OOP. Front loading turn here is good especially against an opponent we have no read on, we can get value from a lot of worse hands like AQ/KQ/QJ and draws like Kj( though we do block K combo’s) and J9s. so yeah i really dislike my check ott! If this opponent was a tricky/aggressive player would you be more inclined to check turn? Even so the turn does not change much, if we were going to face a raise ott , we won’t feel to great about our hand. Let’s just say we were raised ott i would call turn and re-evaluate river. I’d probably call if the river does not complete straights. what would you do if you were raised ott against a tricky/aggressive player and then faced with a river bet? i mean v could still be value betting worse like Qx on this run out. Of course v could have J9s or 66/44 but i still feel calling is okay , as we beat quite a few hands that v could be value betting with and they could also be bluffing with a hand like 78s/J8s. Against a nit i think folding would be fine otr.
if we were going to c/c ott with this hand i really do think we should be calling nearly on any river card vs a tricky aggro opponent as our hand is under repped and v could be value betting worse or bluffing.
thoughts?
cheers 🙂

may i just add that if v were to raise turn i’m no to sure how if they would raise Qx and then bet those otr as well. If v were to raise Qx ott they would be turning a hand that has good showdown value into some weird bluff. So i reckon v range otr would be polarized right?
if the action when c/c ott there would be more of a case that v would be value betting worse such as Qx.
