So mini-UBOC is coming and I am working on preparing to play a significant portion of the series and I was wondering how you gents go about prepping for series (i.e. UBOC, FTOPs, WCOOP, SCOOP that sort of thing). Right now what I am doing is trying to play as many types of tourneys that I think simulate the events (i.e. deep stacks, slow blinds, deep stack turbos, that sort of thing). Is there anything particular that you do or like to do in preperation for playing something like this?

I think you have the right idea.  Probably good to take a couple days off before it starts as well.  Maybe get a light exercise routine going and start adding some healthy shit to your diet.

Good luck!!!

Yeah I have been back to the gym a bunch in the last couple of months and it has really helped things out quite a bit. Never underestimate going into a session destressed, makes a big difference.

Since poker in all reality is an endurance event, carbo load the night before and have a good breakfast with some oatmeal in morning.  This will keep your glycogen index high and give you energy for the long session.  Healthy doesnt have to taste bad!  I am a nutritionist and personal trainer if anyone has any questions lol!!

Awesome how Gabriel has actually taken Les's question seriously. 🙂 TY SIR

FWIW I agree exercising has always served me well – along a healthy doee of fruits and nuts during my sessions.

nothing out of the norm but only advice for series is dont make events must plays if your not 100% committed to the session dont beat yourself up for not playing a particular event

most people swear on coffeine, but I recommend pure green tea (hot or cold) as energy drink. Gives you more energy in a softer way, without all the sugar stuff.
