Hi guys would like to get your thoughts on this, the guy was playing 30/20 over around 30 hands it looked like what
it was when he raises flop but it is impossible to 4bet fold here its either fold or shove and just really didnt
want to fold here as there is a good chance i am good , any ideas on any other ways to play this ?

I am sure he would have played simmilar with A8, K8, Q8, mabye 99, 77, 78, 58, mabye 67 and also with sets, and two pairs. Mabye 79. It's a fine play you made !

Another good play is to call his raise, and call a shove on the turn, but I don't think that you can fold, except if you really know he never check/raises but with a very strong hand (>=2pair)

Thanks for the response , this is a tough spot that comes up time to time and i agree that overall the play seems fine just wanted another opinion as it is very hard to fold here especially considering the available options and situation, thanks again.

Looks like just a cooler, I'm assuming he had a set or something. I'm not a fan of just calling and seeing a turn on boards like this because if a straight card comes you can either get sucked out on or lose your action. I would just get it in on the flop here and look forward to him turning over 99 or TT a lot of the time

One other note. “I am sure he would have played simmilar with A8, K8, Q8, mabye 99, 77, 78, 58, mabye 67 and also with sets, and two pairs. Mabye 79” – this is inaccurate. There are very few A8/K8/Q8 hands in his preflop range, and he almost never has 85 or 79 here. Your assumptions of his flop ranges need to be grounded in his preflop range.
