I've been watching some of the videos and have heard a few times that it is always +ev to c-bet, but how often should we bet on the turn when our intial bet was called and we still haven't hit anything?

Any insight into this question would be much appreciated.

What I've noticed in my game, is that cbets are called alot more early in tourneys when we're all deep. Players are so deep and they just want to peel another card or float etc. I'm double barrelling more often at these stages obvioulsy trying to pick the right spots and players to do it against. I think I've had reasonable success with double barrel bluffs. So many players know a cbet is coming and just don't believe it, but once you double barrell you can usually make believers of em.

Deep in tourneys and shallower stacks I find that one barrel cbet still works most of the time.

C-bets have become almost routinely expected from late position. I’ve found that increasing my frequency of double barrel bets has been profitable especially during the early/mid stages. It has taken awhile to build the confidence to db light and has depended on the table dynamics and board texture. Getting cheap bluffs called on occasions hasn’t hurt either as it generally leads to your dominant hands being handsomely rewarded. I’ve also dabbled in betting light when a scare card hits… I think it was in one of goleaf’s vids where he said something like ” if the A on the turn scared you, then it may have also scared your opponent”, naturally you wouldn’t risk you stack on it, but some savvy bet sizing either takes down the pot or reveals valuable info.
