What I mean is when you win or final table tournaments, how does it usually happen? For me, it seems that I hardly ever final table tournaments where I dont get dealt a lot of JJ+, AQ+ or make two pair plus in key spots.

Do you ever just steal and resteal your way to the FT when you are card dead and missing flops a lot?

One way that I think may be helpful to people is to play more high variance spots. For example, in Marc's recent video, he 3bet calls off half his stack with A8o and holds up against KQo. This is a spot where I would 3bet to resteal with a lot of weak Ax hands, but I would never call off with them.

I think stealing and re-stealing can keep you afloat while you wait for a real hand, but I don't think you can final table very often if the hand never comes. One way around this may be to make light calls based on villain tendencies as Marc demonstrates.

If you want to win, you've got to get a big stack. The only way to get a big stack is to win big pots. The only way to win big pots is to play big pots. We all do this in cooler situations, but maybe we should be doing it in more marginal spots as well.

gotta get lucky to win a tourney, the key is to put yourself in a position to win the tourney.

and i agree, loose agressive style works because you give yourself a lot of opportunities to build a huge stack – conversely, we all know that nit that seems to always go deepish, but always min cashes or finishes 5th when making the final table – this is because they never have enough chips to be able to put pressure on in those critical spots like bubbles and final tables
