I am pretty sure I should have called the turn bet, but for some reason I thought the 4 connected with him for the straight as I have seen him show down some strange connected cards. Argh…hate this hand!

It's fine to lay it down….it's early on, you still have a lot of blinds. I get in too many spots like this where I just get stubborn and turn into a station. His small bet is tempting….but really, you are trying to showdown A high against a random blind hand that may have connected in some way.

Fold turn.

C-bet smaller, too. 40-50% pot as a c-bet only needs to work 1 in every 3 tries to be profitable.

If he whiffed a bet of 150-200 gets the same fold as a bet of 295. The fact he called a large c-bet and led into you on the turn makes this such an easy fold.

Yeah I'm not sure about the re-raise pre either, unless he's been doing this a LOT.  Definetely early enough not to screw around with marginal situations.

Folded to the SB who limps in you shold punish them every chance you get and A9 is ahead of their limping range.

I like the repop pre-flop, smaller cbet would be better. Your both very deep I dont hate it if you call the turn.

Uhmm, ofcourse you have to cbet this. Bringing A9 to showdown is not a profitable strategy. The blinds are low so I cbet here 250. Betting less could work, but then I rather have a note on him as a fit or fold player. On the turn I just see no point in second barreling and any card except an ace will shut me down. When he donkbets, it's a fold

My c-bet sizing really could use some serious work. I am thinking that I am going to be hearing this theme through my HH in the study group this week. Gotta get this under control so I stop spewing chips unnecessarily.
