i dont play alot of these shootouts but when i do i use the same approach as if it was a sitngo. more of a push/fold approach tight early playing mostly premiums and mostly good range play mid to late and then hardcore agression at the bubble without being spewy and then play heads up according
depends on the structure, if you start out with more than 1500 with good blinds then definitely play well from the start and try to accumulate chips. the important factor in a shootout is that you have to win, you can't play to bubble or get 2nd. take every chance you can get to accumulate so that you are in a position to win it. abuse the bubble to the maximum.
