"Hood Flat" and "Hook Raise"

I hear these terms a lot and don't know what they mean. Please explain them to me.

I can help with Hook Raise.

Hook Raise is when a pirate lifts you above his head with his bad arm.

hood flat is when you flat when the odds aren't in your favor. Like flatting 23bbs with 44 after getting 3bet would be a “hood flat”.

As I understand it, a hook raise is what BigDog calls a “shady bet” in his videos. Basically when you are sure you have the best hand and make a smallish bet to induce and give the illusion of FE to your opponent to get him to put his chips in.
