Hey

not much reads on him , we played only 1 hand just previous to this hand , basically i made a semi bluff otf and when he folded i showed…

i don’t show players my bluff usually, i’m thinking hes pretty much peed off and has now decided to 3-bet with a wider range , which AT plays well against.

I would had used ICMizer it’s just that i don’t know how to use it properly, so will have to learn it , would make life so much easier.

This is a FT right?

Considering he is another big stack at the FT he can definitely be light if you’ve shown a bluff previously. I would probably 4bet small or fold. Considering stack distributions folding is my preferred move unless we had history.

I think we have a good stack to 4-bet shove , if we 4-bet small and v 5-bet shoves , we will probably have to call it off?

Didnt realise this stack was the effective stack. Our options become 4bet or fold then. If you think he’s light, jam it. If not, fold. Im more inclined to jam BU vs blinds

which stack can we 4-bet/f without being commited? I’m sure in “kill everyone” they said it was between 50-75bb

which is weird because most players these days 4-bet/f a stack of lets say 40-50bb…

I see where Foucault is going with this, but from the stand-point of your opponent, he is willing to 3-bet the big stack at the table while being the second largest stack.  That means something to me.  (That he has a hand willing to clash with larger stacks while OOP.)   And even though you showed a semi-bluff, I dont think that tilts him.  He may 3-bet you light occasionally, or perhaps he will build up more of a pattern of it, which remains to be seen…  but folding is a small error here if its an error.

But you folded, which to me is fine.  Here is the MORE important point of this action.  He is going to REMEMBER that the last time he 3-bet your open, you folded.  You need to take that into consideration on the NEXT clash and use that to your advantage or continue to set-up a pattern that you can break when the scenario is right.  He may now label you as someone who opens light, and you should remember that image too.

cheers, columbo, that makes a lot of sense.

@focult , if i had AA I would probably 4bet small rather then shove….why?

New here, but why isn't calling an option IP…? You know he could be 3B you light after your last interaction. You're ahead of his range.

hey jimmy welcome to TPE 🙂

I don't think calling is bad actually, it's just that v has not 3-bet me before , so i decided to just let it go.

Would you have a 4bet-folding range in this situation? If so, what would it be?

I would not have a 4-bet/f range in these sort of situations. I guess i just go by the “book” u know that book kill everyone? it's got a section on playing different stacksizes. It says it's only optimal to 4/bet fold when stacks are deeper at around 75bb or something like that,  which is weird because I see many players have a 4bet/f range at around these effective stacks.

Athese effective stacks our options should only be to 4-bet shove or fold , or to flat the 3-bet , espically if he's been 3-betting a lot.

as to which hands will be in my 4-bet/folding range , I'll be choose hands which have good blockers , like A2s-A9s , K5-K9s , Q6s-Q9s , hands that will be easy to fold to a 5-bet shove and hands that wont have enough equity to call a 5-bet shove , obv 🙂 hey I've  even watched a few videos of jaces in regarding to 3-betting/4-betting , I actually now  just remembered where he even said he will 4-bet/f in which the effective stacks were 50bb or something like that , they were a bit deepe though compared to this spot.

so i do need to have a 4-bet/f range here ye? and if so how small do we 4-bet? i'm pretty sure we have to make it small as the effective stacks are only 30bb , villian makes it 2.6k , so i'll have to make it 5200, does that sound okay?
