During this hand I felt pretty comfortable after calling the flop bet that I wasn’t making astronomical mistakes. I ran this in the equity calculator and it seems like I had the right price the whole way to see the river. I ranged Villain a little on the forgiving side with 77+ AQ+ and KQ+. Any thoughts to this hand?

I would say it is pretty wide range for 4better. I am not sure if 3betting with 88 is good play. On the flop you might be way behind drawing to 2 outs only. Especially in early stage of tournament (15/30) I wold not risk so much chips with 88.My 2 cents
Actually, I didn’t even realize I was 3-betting 8s here. I was playing more than one table, and overlooked MP2’s min-raise. However, I think 3-betting 8’s in position against MP2 is perfectly fine. MP2 should have a much wider range than someone like UTG1 or MP. Plus, 3-betting gives us the lead, and hopefully reduces the number of players we see to the flop.
As played, I thought we were getting 3-bet pre by the BB. I don’t necessarily think we should fold 88s here in position preflop against this 4-bet. I don’t love calling, but we are in position and have a decent stack size to see the flop. On the flop, I think we can call one bet to see if Villain gives up on the turn. When the second king comes, it reduces the number of possibilites that villain has some sort of Kx hand. His bet sizing was on the smaller side on the turn as well so either he’s giving me a great price to see the river and we are crushed or he’s betting smaller because he’s not to confident in his hand. Then on the river, I think against straight forward players this would be an easy fold on the turn.
