HEllo all,

i was once again digging into HEM2 database to look how i do. there is something i dont get at the moment which makes me feel like a complete fish.

the thing is the following. if i look at all my my mtt hands from this year and have VPIP: Any then my EV bb/100 for stack size 16-25BB is at 1.06  which is obv very low.

now the point is if i turn on the filter VPIP: Yes then my EV bb/100 is at 115.79.

if i put the VPIPV: No then my EV bb/100 is at -26.06

so this is bit confusing to me now.

general:

for leakfinding is it better to look only on hands where hero vpiped? or both all hands?

for the example above what does this actually mean?

as i understand it i am folding way to often with a short stack?

thanks for input

I’m not real familiar with HEM but my guess would be that Any includes both Yes and No, in other words all hands. I don’t know that a 1BB/100 win rate is that low. With shallow stacks you should expect to see lower win rates in general, unless your opponents are making big mistakes. But between a bunch of players with reasonable push/fold ranges, the gap between best and worst player isn’t going to be that large.

I do think that looking at hands you don’t VPIP is important, especially in short stack spots, as you may be folding good shove or resteal opportunities, or folding too often to small raises when you are BB. These will all show up under VPIP: No because you folded.

thanks for the input. so you basically also think that i might fold bit too often

if i look at all hands than it seems like i am loosing a lot with trash hands (T5o, 93o) bc i am folding them often.

If i look at hands i VPIPed then these are gone. I ll post some screenshots once i am again at my personal computer to give example.

Matt Hunt has a complete series reviewing stuff like this in the first parts and in depth hands later, I think it could help you!

I didn’t say that, I haven’t seen your database, I have no idea where your leaks might be. I’m just saying that if you only look at hands you VPIPed, you won’t catch any folding mistakes you are making.

@foucault: shoul have been more of a question and not a statement. forgot the question mark.

@joel: i have around 600k hands in my data base. i normally look at only the last 50k hands or so. there is not much need to look at hands longer than 1y ago i would say
