hello,i am a new member,i used to be a hu sit and go regural at small-medium stakes but i decided to stop playing these games and start playing mtt.i need to improve my game and i am willing to make some good efforts to learn this type of game.my first question is how important are some programmes like hem?i play 2-3 tables and i think i can have a good opinion for my opponents images.i will post my first hand at this site.some information about the hand:my opponent usually opens from late positions and cbets the flop always.we are the 2 big stacks so i decide to mini 3bet him.i want to represent big pair and my general plan is to play a tricky game thats why i check-raise the flop.i strongly believe that his pot bet doesnt means something stong,i dont believe he would play that way any Q.so his range has flush draws,small-middle pairs and air.so i believe that my shove isnt so bad here.my only doubt is that i have a good stack,we are close to the payments and there is no reason to put all my stack in a very marginal situation.

i want to make your guess about the hand he finally called me.with what hands he should call at this situation??

sorry for my bad english,i hope you understood completely my words.

I think I would take a flop in position here with cards that flop very well.  You could raise his c-bet if you think he c-bets light and it's a much smaller bet to do it when you don't 3 bet pre.

and welcome to the site!

I am not sure I would shove after his pot sized bet. He could be sitting on air or he is protecting his queen. I think I would have just called his bet and fold to additional bets. You only flopped middle pair, missed the flush and straight draw. I would preceed cautiously. IMO

Your english is good 🙂

Welcome.

I do not think he would bet pot with small pairs. Most donk leads are small in nature.

I agree that Qx does not make too much sense here because why would he want you to fold? But when we shove we do not have much fold equity and our hand will not play well against the hands which call us – Qx, flush draws, maybe slightly better pocket pairs?

I'm not sure. I also flat call my button here.

first thought was to flat bttn with this type hand in pos as others have posted. second thought was the 3bet sizing. giving him easy odds to make the call. i think we can raise to 1655 – 1795. flop play: after flopping middle pr and he pots it we can give it up, as mentioned we have no FE and no other drws.

i shoved and i thought that he had a big % of air,fd or something weak.he finally had 88 and imo he could fold this.

Agree. He should feel he is beat but he has invested almost half his stack after his pot bet.

That is why I did not like the shove. Almost no one folds after committing 50% of their chips.

Ya like FkCoolers said typically players aren't ever going to fold after putting in 25% of their stack.  They have to be right such a small percentage of the time that they almost always call off the rest.  Just try and be aware of if your opponents are capable of making folds after putting in large % of their stacks cause the majority of the time they arent.  I think he should be folding 88 here but ya never know maybe he was tired of playing…..I like your thought process just have to be more aware of opponents stack size in this situation.

I feel like im taking crazy pills here, is OP on button or SB?  If he's on button its megabad, if hes in the blinds then its less bad but only bc of small stack sizes, if they were deeper i <3 his play.
